First week and a day...

Apr 28, 2008 23:03

So, it's been a full week and day at my new job. I have to say that I've had to hit the ground running and it feels like I'm supposed to start flying any minute now. I've pretty much done 10+ hour days on average and feeling pretty exhausted but as the saying went during the early years of doing Animag, "it's a good kind of tired ( Read more... )

I didn't realize you moved back to the Bay Area. If I have a free evening I will get a hold of you. Trish and Hajime should be around as well. Maybe you can have coffee or something during the day when I'm working. ^_^

If you hunt you might be able to find round-trip fares for around $90 to $120. Depending on what you drive, that might work out easier and cheaper in the long run. Hopefully this long distance thing won't be for too much longer.

I think I have a good guess what title you're working on. I can bet there's a lot of pressure to get it out the door fast. If you need an extra hand, look me up. Had to turn down a production assistant job with Bandai a year ago because of my course load (two majors, three concentrations), but I'm almost done, thankfully. The time has come to sell myself out to the working world. ^^;;;

If my family were in San Francisco proper, that's what I would do for sure. The closest "major" airport to Modesto is Sacramento and that's still an hour away. So I chose the 5 1/2 hour drive over airfare + wait time and fun with TSA + someone having to pick me up. I could fly to Modesto's little airport, but that's over $250.

As for the show I'm working on, I'm not exactly being subtle. ^_^; The production assistant that did take the job has been amazing in helping me get up to speed. I wouldn't know where I would be without him. It's too bad you couldn't take the job last year. (When I was given an opportunity to dub Ranma, I chose to leave school...which is a decision I'm still conflicted as to if it was a good move or not.)

Some people can make that leap and come out ahead. The key thing to ask is how would your path be different had you not done so? Would you know the same people you know today? Would you have the respect that you have today?

I got started into anime from Ranma, actually. On behalf of all the Ranma fans out there, the fruits of your hard work and scholastic sacrifice were and still are appreciated. :)

Glad to hear that things are working out. ^^ We should do lunch or dinner some time, now that you're here.

Good luck with the show, man!

Very cool. I'm glad everything is working out. And now when I come out to Cali I can see both you and Rich. LOL! *hugs* It will get better, just don't forget to breathe. Being busy must feel good though. =) Miss you.
