The Blossom in Winter

Nov 14, 2007 18:09

The Blossom in winter can feel the light,
Because it has known the cold,
The eye of heaven brings end to night,
And rewards the blossom so bold,

Nor does the flower lose its grace,
When the days draw ever short,
The sun doth shine upon its face,
With splendor of the celebrated sort,

This blossom I hold with great liking still,
Long after the sun doth fade,
The warmth I give will brace her will,
As I refuge her sturdily in the shade,

So she is the blossom of my heart and I her gentle sun,
And may she feel the warmth I know, until this life is done…
