Halloween

Some people could not wait for Halloween to be over with.

These people were, for the most part, not the unique metahuman children of the underground school known as PS238. It was the teachers and other staff of the school that really wished for the whole event to be over.

Especially Principal Cranston, who was on dinner monitor duty tonight. For the past three years since the inception of the school the month of October was the biggest pain in the ass. The only time it ever came close to being this bad was the last 2 weeks of school. It was the time that the non-residential students took it upon themselves to cram in as muc goofing off and showboating their powers before the end of the school year.

He ducked a telekinetically flung ball of pea soup as he dialed Herschel's extention number and pager.

"Whatcha want, Cranston?"

"Do me a favor and look up what channels were shown in the student lounge last night?" He spoke wearily into the wall-mounted screen. "Specifically what was playing."

"Yeh, for the month." The technician's head disappeared from the other side of the screen as more students got in on the act.

Cranston stared at the flying objects circling around the room like some sort of deranged childhood tornado. Several students started taking cover under the tables to eat their meals in peace.

"Nevermind, let me guess. Poltergeist was playing, right?" He said wearily pinching the bridge of his nose. Days like these he really wanted to take up drinking heavily.

Herschel's head reappeared on the screen with a look of mild surprise. "Yeh, how'd you know?"

A pony doll galloped past the principal's face, with a muscled blue Bulk action figure screaming 'I'm a pretty, pony princess!!' in a growly baritone as it rode past.

"Call it a lucky guess."
