Turn and face the strain, ch-ch-changes

So!

I've upgraded my computer system from Windows XP Pro 64 Bit to Windows 7.

This of course comes with a bit of a learning curve. The UI is slick, don't get me wrong, but it's just different enough that I need to spend a few more days getting used to it. There's something about it that reminds me a bit much of the Mac operation system--which is a bit disquieting. I'm going through the slow process of reinstalling a few things (slow because I'm doing this during the work week) and redistributing files in an attempt to make better use of the available drive space. I also made use of the nifty feature in Firefox that makes a backup of one's bookmarks; this was a Good Idea.

In the midst of this, I've been mulling over some advice and information I've gotten from a fellow artist on the matter of making a blog specifically for my art. DeviantArt is all well and good, but the idea of the blog on top of that... I'm on the fence.

Having a blog specifically for my art would help me keep such things separate from my usual drivel here in LJ. It would allow me to direct people to said blog if they don't want to go to my deviantArt page.

But part of me wonders if I could keep up with it. Considering how things have been going in the last few weeks, and also considering that my right hand and wrist are getting worse (my left hand is doing much better), I don't know if I would have the time, mindset, or pain tolerance necessary for the updating.

As I said, I'm on the fence. I'll be mulling it over for a while. Medical stuff has been at the front of my thoughts as of late. The open enrollment for my next year's worth of benefits is approaching. I'm debating if I want to change plans. More on that another time. Also contemplating asking my MD if a new MRI might be needed to see if there is in fact still a cyst in the midst of my wrist bones, and if it is still there, if it's changed at all. Moreso, I want to get tested for RA; despite not showing any of the classic symptoms, it has still been heavily recommended by family and some friends that I get tested anyhow.

Any thoughts on the matter of the possible art blog, my medical [mis]adventures, and or anything else that springs to your mind as you read this... Drop it into the comments.
