So, I'm trying to keep a dream journal, but for some reason sitting down and writing things out with a pen and paper is harder for me than typing it on my computer, so I'm just going to jot the latest ones down here before I forget them.
First off, I had a dream awhile ago now that was another of my typical epic adventure dreams. The setting was that I was a part of some type of important family. Not necessarily a princess-type deal, but something along those lines. Nobility, I guess. My uncle had just died and he was the one person in my family that I felt close to. Because my family was so important, there was going to be a big ceremony. There were a lot of protocols for this type of thing, but I really couldn't care less. My uncle was gone and I was more concerned with that. So, I decided that rather than dress in some stupid costume and say things that didn't matter, I was going to dress and talk just like I usually did, in the way that my uncle loved. Of course, that caused some problems. Mostly along the lines of my parents screaming, me screaming back, me ruining the entire ceremony and taking off. I ended up stealing a boat and heading down river as fast as I could go. Of course, as with most of my dreams, running off like that always gets me into trouble. This river escape route of mine led straight into a dangerous jungle. Even in dreams, I'm not an idiot. I had taken a sword with me and some supplies, but I'm just one girl versus whatever crazy stuff my brain can concoct that might live in a dangerous jungle. So, I'm trying to mind my own business and lay low, making myself something to eat on the riverbank that night, when I get attacked by a group of werewolves. Yep, jungle werewolves. Go figure. Anyway, they're in human form and finding it pretty hilarious that I'm out there all alone with just a sword for protection. They're taunting me, making comments. I'm playing it cool, like I do this every day. I glance around like I'm bored, shrug to myself and comment about how I wasn't expecting to fight werewolves, but after the vampire bats the day before, why not? The werewolves stare at me like I'm insane, which I might be, before they decide to call my bluff and leap at me. I'm doing my best trying to fight them off, when I notice that I'm not fighting alone. My first thought is that maybe it's my best friend. She has this nack for tracking me down and showing up unannounced. But it's not her. It's definitely a guy. Well, I don't really have too much time to figure out who he is at the moment, what with my life in danger, so I keep fighting and decide to consider myself lucky that I've got someone else on my side. Between the two of us and a healthy dose of good old fashioned luck, the werewolves decide that this isn't quite the easy meal they were hoping for and take off. Panting from the fight, but high on adrenaline, I turn to see who else is stupid enough to be out in this jungle. Needless to say, I'm pretty darn surprised to find that it's the guy my parents have arranged for me to marry (I know, arranged marriage. Sucks, huh?). I'd only met the guy a few times, at some formal gatherings. He'd seemed like a pretentious idiot. Hadn't bothered to voice an original thought the whole time. I can't see what he'd be doing out here. So, I ask him. He looks at me and kind of smiles, like I'm being funny. I continue to stare at him, confused, so he shrugs and tells me that he's saving my life. I roll my eyes at that even if he may have been helping with that. Finally, he tells me that he heard what happened and was worried about me, so he came looking. I nod and begin to walk away, figuring that he's just looking after his investment, you know? But he adds that he was pretty impressed with what I'd done. Mutters something about how he always liked my uncle. That he'd probably be proud of me. Damn guy just had to go and defy my stereotype.
And now that I'm about to write the second dream down, I've completely forgotten it. Figures.
