Some decent days..

I am such an LJ slacker. I apologize. But damn time just gets away from you. When I'm working the 12-14 hour days, turn into 15-16 hr days btw the time you count commute time.. So when I come home it eat, then crash. And days off, is housework, errands, and the never ending social and Tom's familial engagements. (and they are never ending this time of year)

I worked Christmas, and was able to adjust my schedule to where after working Christmas Day I was off till Jan 2nd with-out using any PTO which is good. The time off with Tom was nice. We needed it, even if we were busy most of the time. But there were days when we did noting but hang out on the couch and play the Wii. *Tom has Guitar hero, and it's his new "crack".

I got a nice raise at work. Turns out that a good job is rewarded, and I am valued in my department. I had no idea that I had so many compliments, and not a single valid complaint. Only thing that was mentioned, was when I was frustrated, I could be a tad harsh. Which is true. I can get very nasty to the pharmacy people when I have to wait too long on my patients meds.

I know Tom thinks my job is horrible, cuz I only seem to focus on the bad most of the time. But really it is rewarding. I am becoming an exceptionally strong nurse. I had a director who refused to believe I was a new grad RN. She was adamant that I was too good to be a new grad. Which I took as a compliment. I have had some long days as of late, but I really and truly saved lives those days. Which makes up for those days, when it's just one full bedpan after another. It was nice when one of the cardiologist came up to me, and told me I saved his patients life.

That's enough of me rambling.. A new year is upon us, and I wish all of you, the best this new year has to offer. And a democratic president elected in November!
