AAARRGGHH!!!! I tested the link afterward to see if it worked and it did at the time! It must be one of those where the thing you link to disappears after a couple of days. :(
Anyway, I remember who I chose for my team! GK: Victor Valdes. Because he is a great GK and totally overlooked. (Although he is not my favourite, Iker still is, and a few others.) Right-back: Dario Srna. I would have chosen others, but the choice was limited. And I know he's good. Central defenders: Gerard Pique. He's a wonderful defender and I have thought so since he played for Zaragoza at the time they were one of my favourite teams. Bruno Alves. For a central defender, he is similar to Micho, IMHO. He scores a lot of goals for his team and he's intelligent. Left-back: Ashley Cole. I hate him, but I acknowledge he is the best of who is available here. Right midfield: Jesus Navas. I need not say more. I think he is the best. Central mid: Xavi Hernandez. See above reasoning. Attacking mid: Yoann Gourcuff. He's really coming into his own. A valuable addition to any team.XDDDD Left mid: Andres Iniesta. Works so well with Xavi. I cannot split them up. Forward: Zlatan. Come on. Who is in better form atm? Forward: Edin Dzeko. I love this guy. He can only get better, IMO. Coach: Pep Guardiola. Is there any better? XDDD
Okay, those are my choices. I left aside personal feelings and just went with those I thought would let me win. XDDD
Interesting choices! I totally agree with your choice of Bruno Alves, he's indeed quite amazing. And I wouldn't have expected him to score that often! I would definitely have chosen him for my team, too, if Puyol and Terry hadn't been nominated. Barça and Chelsea are excellent at the moment and they wouldn't be as excellent without the great performances of their captains.
It was also very difficult to choose my central midfielder because I think both Xabi and Xavi are fantastic, but the current situation at Liverpool shows how much Xabi meant for the team, and they're struggling so much without him, so I couldn't help selecting him. I did vote for Xavi last year, so I guess he won't mind that much. ;)
LOL, I love how you're not able to split up Xavi and Iniesta! :D
In better form than Zlatan at the moment? I'd say Stefan Kießling, but he wasn't nominated. He's totally on the roll. XD
Picking teams is such fun and so interesting, given all the choices! I am glad the players were limited to only a few for this one because it would have been far too difficult otherwise.
I LOVE Xabi (more than Xavi)! Now I wish I had picked him! (LOL @ splitting up Xavi/Iniesta though!)
Stefan Kiessling is awesome! I LOVE him. TOO BAD he wasn't nominated. It seems like the pollsters forgot about the Bundesliga! :(
