Everyone, I'm back! :D And it seems I missed quite a lot! I'll go through your posts later, I promise. (Or save them to my harddisk to read asap.) Thanks to those who dropped me some links in
that other post. I really appreciate them! Have checked out most of them already. :)
Seems I missed quite a lot of footie stuff, too! Bayern thrashed Cottbus 5-0, which made me very happy. :D Well, apart from the fact that once again, my luck was exceptional. Figure this: There is ONE match I can't watch because I have guests here, and not only does Hitzfeld decide to play Micho and van Buyten in the defense together, Micho scores, too. I bet they're all doing that on purpose. *pouts* Fortunately, the summary I watched showed part of the 5/6 OTP moment after Micho's goal. Too bloody adorable. I want pics. :) Oh, and those assists by Toni Kroos? WOW. I was speechless. Can't wait to see more of him! :D
I read that Andi Ottl doesn't seem too eager to extend his contract with Bayern. His current one ends in 2008, and apparently, they want to have negotiations right now, but Andi requests a regular berth and can't have it. On the one hand, I'm glad that van Bommel and Zé Roberto are doing so well together and we don't have to worry about our midfield, but on the other hand, I would be really sad to see Andi go because he is Bayern. He was born in Munich, grew up in Munich and with Bayern, and I really want him to stay. Of course, I can understand that he wants to play and that he needs practice, which he doesn't get at Bayern. Maybe a loan would make everyone happy? It seems to do wonders with Andi Görlitz right now, after all!
When talking about transfers, one has to mention the upcoming transfer of Ronaldinho. How come I haven't read anything about this on LJ so far? Apparently, Abramovich has lost his last remaining brain cells and plans to get Ronaldinho to Chelsea during the winter break. He'll spend either 48 million Euros or 80 million Euros on transfer fees (depends which newspaper you'd like to believe), and he'll earn about 12 million Euros a year. Am I the only one shaking his head about this? Because Ronaldinho hasn't been in best shape recently, hasn't managed to stick to his performance of two years ago, has fallen out with Eto'o and Rijkaard and avoided Thierry Henry from the beginning. The "Fantastic Four" that never became it. At the same time, rumours have it that Didier Drogba will leave Chelsea, and Frank Lampard won't extend his contract. I don't see where this will improve the club, to be honest. Let's see.
And now to something closer by: FC Augsburg's coach Rainer Hörgl quit, quite out of the blue. I was shocked when I read it! The club won 2-0 against VfL Osnabrück this week, but at the end of the match, Hörgl declared in tears that he was burnt out and had to leave. He took over the club from Armin Veh in 2004, almost three years ago to the day. FCA don't have a replacement for him yet, because actually, the management had wanted to extend the contract with Hörgl. (Rumours have it that there are negotiations with either Klaus Augenthaler, Volker Finke or Michael Frontzeck.) Hörgl sat on the bench during today's match against Paderborn (1-1 after Augsburg led 1-0 during the first half). I'm sorry for him. He was a good coach, he got us promoted. I hope he'll feel better soon.
