You might remember this entry, in which I posted scans from Bayern's 2007/2008 yearbook. Now, I finally found the time to translate the questionnaires. If you're interested, click the cut. But be warned - there's some silliness ahead! XD




Daniel van Buyten:

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because we had a good preseason and everyone is looking forward to play a good season for our fans. Also, we got good new players.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
The jerseys are very pretty, stylish and well-cut.

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Because the club does everything for its players, has a super manager and the most fans in Germany.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
To show people that we belong in the Champions League by winning the cup. In any case, we're going to try everything.

What I'm still hoping for:
To win the Champions League.

What I've always wanted to do:
Do parachute jumping.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:
A song by Usher.

What I like about myself:
That I know what's important in life. And I like how my parents educated me.

The idol of my childhood:
My father. Football-wise, it was Zinedine Zidane and Marcel Desailly.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Because I made a fire when there were ten gas bottles around me.

At whose celebrity's place I'd like to be invited:
At Beckham's.

And what I'd wish to eat there:
Nice Weißwurst.

Which musician/bands I'd like to meet back stage after a concert:
Usher.

What I switch the TV on for:
To watch football or documentaries about nature.

Which website I visit regularly:
My own because I can chat with my fans there.

And last but not least - what I always wanted to say:
I'm going to tell that in the next yearbook. See you then!

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because we've built a good team and want to show that we're raging.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
Like the most beautiful team, because it's Bayern's jersey and everyone wants it.

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Because of its history and administration and because it's one of the biggest clubs in the world.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
I'm always happy to play for Bayern, no matter if it's in friendlies or the UEFA Cup. And I always want to win.

What I'm still hoping for:
To win the Champions League and to play for Argentina during the World Cup of 2010.

What I've always wanted to do:
A tour around the world.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:
None, I simply sing badly.

What I like about myself:
I hate losing - always!

The idol of my childhood:
Diego Maradona and Michael Jordan.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Because at the age of 15, I went to Buenos Aires alone to play football and drop out of school.

At whose celebrity's place I'd like to be invited:
The Pope's.

And what I'd wish to eat there:
Asado (Argentinean meat).

Which musician/bands I'd like to meet back stage after a concert:
La Mona Jimenes and Ricardo Arjona.

What I switch the TV on for:
Football.

Which website I visit regularly:

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because the team has been put together well.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
The new jerseys are outstanding!

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Because FCB is the most successful German club by far.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
The trophy.

What I'm still hoping for:
To become German champion.

What I've always wanted to do:
Hold the league championship trophy in my hands. Sit in a Formula 1 car.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:

What I like about myself:

What my parents chided me for as a child:
There were a lot of things!

Because we signed good players and will become a good team.

Because of its success throughout the club's history.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
To the final in Manchester.

What I'm still hoping for:
That I'll learn how to cook.

What I've always wanted to do:
Play tennis with Roger Federer.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:
"Irgendwann bleib i dann dort" by STS.

What I like about myself:
I'm honest, ambitious and reliable.

The idol of my childhood:
Mehmet Scholl, Pete Sampras.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Because I once kicked a football into the glass house in the garden and broke it. And because I skipped school once, which I now regret!

At whose celebrity's place I'd like to be invited:
Gisèle Bündchen.

And what I'd wish to eat there:
That's quite negligible, actually.

Which musician/bands I'd like to meet back stage after a concert:
The Pussycat Dolls, Justin Timberlake

What I switch the TV on for:
Sport shows like tennis from Wimbledon.

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because you can't do much worse.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
Proud and with an aggressive attitude.

Because we have a great administration where people are always there for the team.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
The trophy - I've never won it.

What I'm still hoping for:
To win the Champions League with FC Bayern.

What I've always wanted to do:
Experience an NBA basketball game live.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:

What I like about myself:

The idol of my childhood:

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Breaking a few windows whilst kicking the ball.

Because I hope the team has learned from last season's mistakes.

I think they're really great!

Because the club has been #1 in Germany for many decades.

Great games and good opponents.

What I'm still hoping for:
Become German champion as quickly as possible.

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because we created a good team with great players.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
The colours remind me of my former club Estudiantes de la Plata.

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Because of the good work of the club's employees, the administration and the fans. Bayern is simply one of the best clubs in the world.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
The chance to win the cup.

What I'm still hoping for:
To succeed at Bayern during my first months already.

What I've always wanted to do:
Play a musical instrument.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:
"Quisiera Volver" by Las Palmeras.

What I like about myself:
Congeniality, honesty, dependability (?).

The idol of my childhood:
Maradona.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Spending the whole day on the football pitch once again.

At whose celebrity's place I'd like to be invited:
Maradona's.

And what I'd wish to eat there:
Asado.

Which musician/bands I'd like to meet back stage after a concert:
U2.

Mostly sports.

Preferably Argentinean sites to stay informed about my home country.

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because we have a team full of leaders now.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
Like football players who want to win.

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Because our kit manager is a "Barbapapa".

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
To the final!

What I'm still hoping for:
A white christmas in Munich.

What I've always wanted to do:
To play a snooker tournament.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:
"Skifahrn" by Wolfgang Ambros.

What I like about myself:
Social, upstanding, tolerant.

The idol of my childhood:
Michael Jordan.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Because I didn't take my wet swimming kit out of the bag and soon everything smelled bad.

At whose celebrity's place I'd like to be invited:
Roger Federer's.

And what I'd wish to eat there:
Leberkäs and potato salad.

Which musician/bands I'd like to meet back stage after a concert:
Pink.

What I switch the TV on for:
Wimbledon tennis tournament.

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because we have more quality than last season.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
Like the new FC Bayern.

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Bayern have a big history and many titles and enjoy a good international reputation. The administration is excellent and we have a strong character.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
To the many clubs we don't get to see in the Champions League.

What I'm still hoping for:
That the world gets better (less wars and poverty), and that we manage to get the environment problems and climate change under control.

What I've always wanted to do:
Be the DJ at a disco and play house, tech-, progressive-, deep- and vocalhouse.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:
With a Backstreet Boys song - that would be a great performance!

What I like about myself:
Others have to judge my character.

The idol of my childhood:
Raimond Aumann, Oli Kahn, Peter Schmeichel, my brother.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Breaking our living room window with a football, knocked my mum's tooth out with a golf ball and kicked the kitchen door with a stud shoe and left a couple of holes.

At whose celebrity's place I'd like to be invited:
Heidi Klum's, Gisèle Bündchen's, Jessica Alba's.

And what I'd wish to eat there:
We'd eat a multicourse dinner at a nice Italian restaurant. Dessert would follow...

Which musician/bands I'd like to meet back stage after a concert:
Some house DJs that tell me their tricks.

What I switch the TV on for:
Good boxing fights, Roger Federer's tennis matches and good movies.

Which website I visit regularly:

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because any year can be a bad year.

How we appear in our new cross-striped jerseys:
Five years younger!

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Because FC Bayern has been playing on a top level for a long time and made itself a super name internationally.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
To play! I haven't got any UEFA Cup caps yet!

What I'm still hoping for:
A header goal.

What I've always wanted to do:
To hold the League championship tropy in the air.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:
"Superjeile Zick" by De Höhner.

What I like about myself:
My left foot.

The idol of my childhood:
My parents, Henry, Ronaldo.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Because everytime I played football in it, my whole room was upside down.

At whose celebrity's place I'd like to be invited:
Angela Merkel.

And what I'd wish to eat there:
Sauerkraut and dumplings.

Which musician/bands I'd like to meet back stage after a concert:
De Höhner.

Football, boxing, tennis.

Give no chance to racism.

Why this season will be more successful for us than the last:
Because our #7 became more energetic. Hello to my friend Mehmet, by the way!

Like Marlboro Medium cigarette packs.

Why FC Bayern is an exceptional club:
Because it's unique in Germany - often copied, never reached.

What I'm looking forward to in the UEFA Cup:
To extending my geographic horizon in any case.

What I'm still hoping for:
That my dad will finally reach my golfing skills and I'll get my leather jacket back.

What I've always wanted to do:
Eat oysters and lobster with pineapple - and tunnel Oli Kahn at the circle game like every year.

Which song I'd perform for a casting show:

What I like about myself:
That I rarely have to shave - due to the lack of beard growth.

The idol of my childhood:
Flemming Povlsen, Zinedine Zidane.

What my parents chided me for as a child:
Because I didn't do anything for school voluntarily and played with my friends in the street instead.

Weißwurst with mustard and pretzels. But unfortunately, that is unimaginable.
