28. Tomcats

Much sillier than I remembered it to be after not having watched it for about three years, but still fun. I love Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie). She was quite brilliant in the movie, by the way, as were most of the other girls. I didn't like Jerry O'Connell (Joe's Apartment) too much but his humour has never been my style. And Jake Busey (haven't seen him in anything else) was disgusting, really. I don't know if he was supposed to be like that or it's just me, but I could have gagged whenever he appeared on screen. Not just because of the thing with the testicle.
Well, I suppose you can't expect too much from a movie like this, and it was still better than Party Animals, so I suppose it was a good waste of time. ;)

29. Divorcing Jack

David Thewlis (Black Beauty, The Big Lebowski), Rachel Griffiths (Very Annie Mary), Jason Isaacs (Peter Pan, Black Hawk Down) and Robert Lindsay (Hornblower, My Family) all in one movie together? That movie can't be bad! And OMG, it was brilliant. teh_farmer and I didn't get too much of it at the beginning because of the horrible accents and the lack of subtitles, but after we had watched a couple of scenes in German, it all seemed to at least fairly make sense. The humour was priceless. Rachel Griffiths was brilliant. I was totally amazed at how versatile she is. And OMG, Robert Lindsay as the baddie. *LOL* (Though I couldn't really take him too seriously because his accent was hilarious.)
I can recommend this movie to anyone who, despite all the WTF, wants to have a good laugh and a nice but not too difficult story to accompany it.

30. Trick

One of the most beautiful gay movies ever, and at the same time, one of the least satisfactory. When you've arrived at the end of the movie, you expect them to finally shag after all the things they've been through together, but they don't. But don't let that bother you, really. The movie is absolutely cute. Imagine a musical composer meeting a go-go dancer who looks like a young version of Colin Farrell (but only profile-wise) and they want to shag but don't find a suitable place. If I had been the go-go dancer, I would have left after having been kicked out once. The fact that the one in the movie didn't made him adorable and provided for a funny and lovely story. Good acting, too! Most recommendable.

31. 28 Days

I bought this without having seen it before. The reason: Sandra Bullock (While You Were Sleeping, Miss Undercover), Dominic West (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mona Lisa Smile), Steve Buscemi (The Big Lebowski, Reservoir Dogs) and Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings). I wasn't disappointed. Sandra Bullock acts very convincingly as the party animal who goes through rehabilitation and afterwards changes her whole life. Of course, it's a typical movie story with a happy ending, but I think it's very well made. I didn't know about Alan Tudyk before (he's in A Knight's Tale, but I hadn't seen that one when I bought 28 Days), but he's hilarious as the (supposedly) German gay guy. ("OMG, look at my package!" XD) Dominic West was very annoying in the movie, but that was his role. And Viggo as the sex addict. *dies laughing* Excellent role, excellent acting. I would have wished for his and Sandra's characters to get together at the end, but I suppose you can't have everything, and the actual ending was brilliant. :)

32. All of Me

Most of you probably haven't heard of this movie yet, and I can't hold it against you. It's been quite a long time since I saw it for the first time - still on video cassette and at my grandma's house. The movie is from 1984 - but don't let that fool you, Steve Martin's hair was already white then. He's playing Roger Cobb, who works for a law firm and gets assigned to the case of Edwina Cutwater (played by the adorable Lily Tomlin), a very rich middle-aged woman who has a deadly illness and wants her soul to transfer from her body to the body of a young woman so that she can live on. For this, she employed the guru Prahka Lasa, who has a most hilarious scene with a telephone and a toilet. However, something goes horribly wrong, and in the end, she finds herself in the body of Roger Cobb - together with him. She rules one half of his body, he rules the other half. Hilarity ensues. Seriously, if you ever get your hands on this movie, watch it. You won't regret it. Even if you don't like Steve Martin. (I don't, either.)

33. The Man Who Cried

I bought this because Johnny Depp is in it. Yes, I'm shallow. The movie itself was horribly confusing and weird and I didn't get it. Johnny Depp wasn't quite himself, either. Almost all the time, he stood next to a horse or rode it. No real action. Not even John Turturro, Christina Ricci and Cate Blanchett (with a Russian accent) could make up for it. The sex scene came completely unexpected and was shot from such a weird camera angle that I didn't really get it, either. The only good thing about this movie was John Turturro singing. I don't really know if it was his voice - and I doubt it, to be frank - but he looked funny singing. ;) Ah well.
If you want to watch a movie about Jews and how they lived, you should stick to Solomon & Gaenor - it doesn't have Johnny Depp, but it has Ioan Gruffudd (Hornblower, Fantastic Four).

34. Very Annie Mary

I had already seen it before, but I suppose, you can't watch that movie often enough. I had bought it because of Ioan Gruffudd (Hornblower) and Jonathan Pryce, but the cast isn't everything that makes this movie so great. I loved the little details about Wales, the way people of a little village live, what problems they have. The talent contest was great fun, as was the fact that the two guys who own the village café are gay. (And played by Ioan Gruffudd and Matthew Rhys, who are best friends and used to share a flat.) I suppose it was typical, too, that Annie Mary lost her virginity with someone she didn't even know - whilst watching a horse race and losing 1000 pounds. Great humour, funny accents - and the "Annie Get Your Gun" scene is totally priceless. If you want screencaps, go here. ;)

I've watched more, but I'll review them later. Want to discuss? I'd be delighted. :)
