I've been in Massachusetts for the last week. I'm taking a little break and applying to stuff for next year. So far, I've applied to teach in Korea, Russia and Japan. We'll see which come through. I was debating about which one I would want the most, but I can't decide. Korea is AWESOME (but not as useful, since I don't speak Korean). Russia because I would probably get the most out of it in terms of usable skills (possible near-fluency in Russian if there for a year). Japan: I would improve my Japanese (but wouldn't get as far as with Russian), and I miss it. I'm hoping all but one reject me so that I won't have to decide (but please not ALL, I'm sick of rejections).
I'm working on a new video. I'm excited about it. Vidding is a dream now, since I have upgraded and cut the ripping time by like 80%. Also, after my last video, I'm appreciating the fast cuts and familiar source (BSG) and the presence of lyrics. I'm having some trouble with flow, but hopefully I'll work it out as I go along. Luckily, the song is a perfect fit for BSG, so no problem in that department.
Hmm, as for books, I just finished reading A Brave New World. I heard it sucked, but I actually liked it quite a lot. Mostly for the ideas. I'll admit that some of the events were too out there (not a fan of the last bit), but for the most part I enjoyed it. I kind of wish that they had a consistent main character throughout, but it was interesting how it kept switching. At first, it was that dude who was giving the tour, then I thought it was Lenina, then suddenly Bernard Marx, then finally The Savage. Anyway, I figured it was one of the last great sci-fi's that I hadn't seen/read. Not as good as 1984, though. Now I'm taking a break from sci-fi, and reading Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks, which my dad recommended.
