Why I "Baracked" the early vote:

Oct 29, 2008 20:28

I want the 9 million children and 50 million adults who are uninsured to have access to decent medical care.
I want to know that when our children go to war, that it is a just war. A legal war. A war that is fought to protect our freedom, not our oil interests.
I want to know that when our children die in war, we are not afraid to show pictures of their flag draped coffins.
I want corporations to not ship jobs overseas, not domicile in tax-havens to avoid paying their share and not ruin our environment.
I want a government that is not run by big oil, big industry and cronyism.
I want to know that the concept of "less government" means less intrusion into my PRIVATE life.
I want to know that my government UPHOLDS the constitution rather than looks for ways to circumvent and undermine it.
I want to regain our standing as the protector nation that we once were.
I want to know that we NEVER EVER torture.
I want to ensure that corrupt government officials are brought to justice.
I want a woman's right to choose upheld.
I want to know that evangelical christianists don't get to decide what is right.
I want a return to honest debate, not name calling.
I want to celebrate diversity of race, religion, thought and sexuality.
I want to know that the qualified, educated candidate won.
I want to know that the good guy won.

But mostly, I want to know that my 9 year relationship is recognized. I want to be able to post a picture of the love of my life on the interweb without fear that his security clearance will be revoked if the wrong people see. I want to be able to marry and to grow old with whom I choose.

I want equality.

I want change.

I want OBAMA.
