For certain values of true. :) Oh, boy! The ol' nature of Truth dustup. How predictable.
Still, it has to be prodded at, even though there are no definitive answers. And there aren't.
Well, I got True Tales for a workshop at EarthHouse - in JUNE! And, as I expected, it was well attended.
Results? Some very thoughtful people. Some fascinating insights into other people's heads. All-in-all, a very
worthwhile exercise. Fun for all, and only a few misunderstandings about the True(!) nature of the narrative.
Worth repeating, perhaps with more experienced Tale-tellers...I'm sure some will attend again. If only to get
more of THEIR tales out.
Truth is seductive, selective and subjective. As I said in my intro; "All these tales are true, many won't be
believed. It doesn't matter." And it doesn't matter. The telling of the tale in a receptive setting
relieves a stress we didn't know we were undergoing. Whether or not we are believed is unimportant; it is the
telling and the hearing of the true, yet impossible, Tales that free us to live fully in our communities. The
True Tale is the shared bond of Our Peoples. Tell YOUR Tales.
