(no subject)

I was just looking through the BBC's big read list for book ideas and I was sorry to find that every single one of the Harry Potter books made it to the top 50 while... oh, let's say... Bram Stoker's Dracula, for example, came in at a miserable 104. This is one of the reasons why I dislike books such as Harry Potter and the Da Vinci Code and every Manga ever written. No one reads the good stuff anymore.

Moving on to an entirely unrelated subject:

I want a wild animal for a pet. Preferably a fox or a robin or something. I don't think I'd be amused by a chicken or a squirrel, nor would I really trust something bigger... like a wolf or a lynx. This has always been a dream of mine, probably prompted by watching Mary Poppins and The Fox and the Hound way too many times when I was a kid. When I saw some sort of fox being sold in the pet store in New York, I nearly died, I wanted it so badly. Exotic animals are just...cooler. Hence my adoration of the Lorikeet as opposed to all the other birds because it was... different. It didn't eat seeds and it was more like a dog than it was a bird. I still am sorry I didn't get him. I miss him a lot.
