They were the last to arrive at Buffy's, the rest of the children already gathered in the living room. Buffy had given them quizzical looks as she tidied up, wondering what had taken them so long as it was Giles that had requested the meeting.
Jenny had just brushed off the confusion with a smile, telling Buffy they'd gotten tied up at home. Buffy, knowing their usual... extra-curricular activities, so to speak... assumed that this meant literally tied up, and begged Jenny not to tell her any more before running off to the next room.
Jenny had looked up at him with a cheeky grin, and he'd been powerless to stop the chuckle while he shook his head at her uncanny knack for pressing buttons.
He had been relieved that she wasn't pregnant, though he had seen a minute trace of disappointment in her eyes when she'd shown him the test. He knew that having children wasn't of the utmost importance to his wife, though she seemed to grow fond of the idea for the few hours they'd entertained the possibility

After the meeting of their little Scooby gang had concluded, she and Rupert headed home to get some sleep. He was getting more and more agitated about the Council's arrival, and she had managed to convince him that sleep was the best thing for him at that point.
They'd gone to the Magic Box early the next morning, preparing for another busy day. Now that the holiday rush had ended and they were into January, things had been quieter, though business had still been good. Their clientele ranged anywhere from amateurs -- teenage girls wanting to cast love-spells on the hunky quarterback -- to seasoned magic users.
Anya had basically taken over the cash register, her excuse being that she liked touching the money and speaking as little as possible to the customers, while she and Rupert divided their time between helping people out on the floor, re-stocking merchandise, or taking breaks in the back.

He exchanged a look with Jenny as she headed toward the back of the store, to keep an eye on a few of the Watchers that had infested their shop. "Uh well, um, this is the shop, obviously."
