Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Here's today's thought of the day; come on!

"The soul should be spent in pleasure, not pain. The body should be spent in toil, not idleness." [1]

[BGM 'Yume ni Kakeru']

Ohh. I see.
This is a quote by Edo-era scholar, Kaibara Ekiken-san, from his work 'Yōjōkun' (The Book of Life-nourishing Principles). To be healthy, our souls should have pleasure without suffering, while our bodies should work hard and not slack off too much. Apparently that's what it means.

Today is a holiday, so for the sake of our health, we should not slack off too much and keep active, right?

Well, right now, I feel like I'm probably in danger of resting too much. Right about now, it's a no-performance day for 'BLAST in Miyagi'. Yeah.

Well, but I think I'm moving! Honestly, I don't know what I'm doing. Mm. What am I doing on that day off?

Well, a little while ago, my solo exhibition ended. Well... Did I get some time off after that? I'm not drawing any pictures, to be honest. Mm.

So like... for about a month, the staff did all sorts of things for Freestyle II. Even when an acquaintance of mine went to see it, they told me that the staff's support was incredible. That venue was really blessed with the support of a lot of people for that month. Mm.

So that ended without incident. And like, my acquaintance went to see it. They're one of my friends who's my age and they were like, "we're the same age, let's drink together!"

"That'd be great!"

So then after work ended, around 11, I was like, "Where are you now?"

"I'm at home."

"I was just about to go grab a bite, it's gonna take a while..."

"Come over to my place, then!"

Then when I went there, it was really clean and tidy! Practically sparkling, so to speak. And y'know, what surprised me was that they were like, "I decorate my place with things that I like". And like, there were posters of various bands and stuff all hung up and framed.

Then in the middle of all those things that they liked... "Eh?!"

They'd put up my art book! Not only that, but the one from 7 years ago! I was so happy to see that. This was a fairly new friend. They had something of mine from 7 years ago, from way before they even got to know me. And then they said they often watched videos of me dancing!

That was really flattering! Mm. And then we drank until morning, the two of us. Like, we were both the same age, but the things we'd done in life were quite different. It was interesting to compare, naturally.

Next time it's my turn to invite them over! I've really gotta spruce my place up, seeing how neat their place was! (laughs)

Man, that was really fun. That was a precious day indeed. Yeah.

That's all; this was Ohno Satoshi!
