Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Here's today's thought of the day; come on!
"Men are like rivers - the water in all of them, and at every point, is the same, but every one of them is now narrow, now swift, now wide, now calm, now clear, now cold, now muddy, now warm. So it is with men." [1]

This is a quote by the Russian author who wrote 'War and Peace' and 'Anna Karenina', Leo Tolstoy. Rivers have different dispositions and natures, and the way they merge and coexist makes up part of Nature. People are also like that; diverse peoples coexist to make up society and the world.
(laughs) But y'know, rivers... I go to the sea all the time, but I basically like rivers, too. Um, the rivers deep in the mountains and all are kinda scary. There are bears, too. I like rivers where there are no bears, since they're rivers that you can safely play in.
In the past I used to play in them. Well, back at my parents' house. Well, it was about 20-30 minutes away by bike. It had a good vibe. It wasn't a huge river, just a little one, and it flowed into a pond, like a kind of marshy pond.
Well, the reason why I often went there was to catch crayfish. But like, they had seasons when they'd be there or not. Yeah. And then there was whether you caught them earlier or not. There were times when it'd be like, "Ah, I caught these early. Let's go home!" (laughs)
Often, it was best to go in the mornings. Man, and then like once, there was the 'full of tadpoles' incident. That was amazing. There was once when it was just all full of tadpoles! Like, no matter how much you scooped, you'd scoop some! Now I'd brought some home, but I didn't manage to raise them into frogs. That was a pity. Yeah.
Man, so like, a lot happened with that river. You don't really see crayfish at rivers nowadays, do you? Have the times changed?
I mean, like, I haven't seen them lately. I don't know when, but at some point, I'd like to go back to the river I used to go to. I wonder if it's still there?
It felt pretty wide, back then. I hope it's still there. And like, where that river was, there used to be this murky pond. Then if you went past that, deeper in, there was really clear water. And like, I'd wondered why the water there was so clear. When I took a closer look, I saw wasabi growing there.
"Ah, that's why it's so clear! So there won't be any crayfish here," I thought. I remember that.
Man, so like, ultimately, I want to go look for some wasabi! I'd like to have some wasabi from there. (laughs)
That's what I'm thinking, so at some point I'd like to go back there!
