[BGM ‘Akatsuki’]

Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Every Friday I respond to the messages received on this show.

First up is one from Yume-san.
"Ohno-kun, good morning. I'm working part-time at a cake shop. When working part-time at a cake shop, I get to have the leftover cakes, the slightly deformed cakes, the broken cookies and all sorts of desserts. I wanted to boast about it to Satoshi-kun, captain of the dessert club. Satoshi-kun, if you were to do a part-time job, what would you want to do?"

Part-time jobs, huh? Well, I've never done a part-time job before, but there was a time where I thought I'd like to work at a convenience store. Mm. Once I get into that, it'd be a win, I thought. Character-wise, I mean. They're really good at that. But once I've gotten used to it, I wouldn't trip over my words. "Are you looking for something in particular?" That's when they've turned on their switch, I think.

I don't hate that sort of thing. Once you get into it, it's fun, isn't it? "The right size for you would be..."

That's sort of onee, isn't it? If I did it... I just thought of it just now, (laughs) but somehow when I try doing an impression of being in the hospitality line, I end up being onee.

That's probably hopeless, I can't do it. That's right, I can't do a masculine version. Mm. But really, I think they're such pros. I'd kinda like to try doing it, though. I'll do it someday. (laughs) I'd like to do it someday.

Next, from Nao-san.
"I'd like to do an impression that I'm good at, but I don't want it to be something that everyone does often and can pretty much be done by anyone. What impression should I practice? What impression is Sato-yan good at?"

You don't have to practice it that much, do you? (laughs) But impressions are tricky, aren't they? An impression that people don't do, that's tricky. Mm.

Last year, for my solo song, I did a pantomime. At the time, I really couldn't come up with anything until the last minute, so I finally managed a pantomime. (laughs) I figured I should just try adapt it.

So when it came to the actual performance, I wondered whether it was actually conveyed that I was doing a pantomime. I'd the performance recorded on my own phone, and I was like, "Hmm, was that conveyed? It's a bit small..." But there were surprisingly quite a few cheers and people being full absorbed into it.

So Nao-san, what if you did something along the lines of pantomime? In a sense, that's an impression, right? Like air walls and stuff. Walls would work, too, but maybe escalators would be good too. And then like, having heavy luggage or something. That might raise the level of completion a little. Rather than whether it looks accurate or not, it'd be like, "Ohhh!"

That might be better. That way, it might be more impressive for people watching. If you want to practice impressions, you should seriously do pantomimes. Then if you show them all, it'd be eye-catching. Good luck!

Next, from Ayano-san.
"This is out of the blue, but there's something I want to fix. I tend to buy things and end up not using them. For example, I have poor eyesight so I bought contact lenses, but I don't use them since it's too troublesome. I bought a scarf, but it's too big so I don't use it. And so on. There's probably more if I were to look harder. I want to bid farewell to this part of myself. Ohno-kun, do you have things that you buy but don't use?"

I understand. For me... What would that be? I might have too many lures. (laughs) I have a lot of lures I don't use. Whenever I see lures, I end up wanting to buy them. I've bought a lot of them. There's a lot I've never taken out of my box, though.

"Ah, this was here?" I've said that before. That's not good.

Mm. But I generally do use stuff, but there's something I've frankly not used. My stretch machine. The one for stretching your legs. I took a selfie with it for 'Meringue' once. I've honestly not used that recently.

Honestly, the bottom part of my right thigh kinda hurts. So I've been told it's better not to use that for the time being. I'm on a hiatus! Yeah. I'll use it moving forwards. I keep hoping it'll heal soon. Mm.

But that feels good. Like it honestly stretches your body. It makes your body feel good. But one thing I can say is that there's a certain level which I can't get any more flexible. (laughs) I wonder if it's age? It really doesn't get much better.

Yeah, Sasaki Kuranosuke-san... Isn't it unfair? Even though he doesn't do any stretches... Was he born with it? I kinda want to become like that. I intend to keep doing it forever, but...

Well, but stretching is important. Be careful not to overdo it!

And so with that, the weekly Friday messages have been answered. I'll be awaiting your mail. The address is arashi@fmyokohama.co.jp. I'll be waiting for you to send me lots of messages.

See you next week; this was Ohno Satoshi!

Have a good day!
