Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Here's today's thought of the day; come on!

"Goals are something that you can accomplish with your own efforts. Dreams are things that you can't quite reach with effort. In order to have your dreams come true, you have to create a lot of goals. You need to accomplish those goals one by one to get there."

[BGM 'Don't You Get It?']

This is a quote by the archer representing Japan at the Rio Paralympics, Ueyama Tomohiro-san.

This was sent in by listener Narupi-san, first year highschooler. The message reads:
"This quote comes from the time athlete Ueyama Tomohiro, who is an alumnus of my school, came to my school to give a talk. Right, so previously, I went to the final day of the Osaka leg of the 'Are You Happy?' tour. It was so incredibly fun that I thought all over again what a good thing I liked the 5 of Arashi all through the 2 and a half hours. Anyway, during the MC on that day, Sho-kun was said that Ohno-kun recommended 'octopus goes well with wasabi'. Did Ohno-kun treat Sho-kun to octopus and wasabi?"

I did say that, huh? If I'm not mistaken, there were 3 days. It was the night of the 2nd day. We had it at this teppanyaki-type place. They fried the teppanyaki right before us. Like at this counter. We all sat in a line and ate. Sho-kun happened to be beside me.

So like, I wonder why the conversation became like that? I was also kinda drunk.

Then somewhere along the way, we got hyped up with conversation like, "Which supermarket do you recommend?"

I was like, "There! There's good! I aspire to the sashimi there!"

"Sho-kun, do you like octopus?" It somehow turned to that topic. "I've been really into octopus lately."

So if you combine octopus with cucumbers, then put wasabi and sashimi soy sauce on it, it's delicious.

Then I was like, "Sho-kun, try putting octopus and cucumber and eating it. Sho-kun will probably like it since you like shellfish."

"Ah, is that so?"

"Um, so they sell single tentacles of octopus at the supermarket, right? So buy cucumber after that, then at home, get a knife and cut it into bite-sized pieces."

The moment I said that, he was like, "No, we can't do that..."

(laughs) "No, no, Sho-kun, it's better to cut it! And the cucumber, too. Cut it to suit the size of your own mouth..."

"No, no, we can't do that..."

So I was gradually getting more and more drunk, so I was like, "No, no, there's no way we can't not do that! It's better to cut it! Cut it, then there's that place where they sell wasabi, so better go there and grate it."

"No, Satoshi-kun, we can't do that..."

I was getting more incoherent (laughs) since I was drunk. "Why not?! Hang on..."

Then, um... (laughs) I asked the shopkeeper... (laughs)

"Do you have any wasabi?"

It was a teppanyaki place, but somehow they happened to have some. (laughs) Then like, they lent us some. "See, Sho-kun! Try grating it!"

And so he did and I was like, "That's great! That's great, right?"

"Ahh...ahh."

So I said something like that but afterwards I didn't really remember it. (laughs)

It was a funny conversation. We were just endlessly talking, the two of us. "No, so like...!" "No, like I said...!" (laughs)

I wonder if Sho-kun's tried eating it? Next time, I'll cut it first and bring it for him. Right? I'll do that!

That's all; this was Ohno Satoshi!

ETA: Thanks to osanajimi @ tumblr who pointed out I mistranslated 'grating / 擦って' as 'sucking / 吸って'. Total brainfart on my part!
