Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Here's today's thought of the day; come on!

"Practise, lose interest, ruin = leave" [1]

[BGM 'Power of the Paradise']

This is a quote displayed in the rehearsal halls of one of Japan's representative theatre groups, Shiki Theatre Company. It is a stern warning to all that means practice leads to losing interest, and then it will be connected to a person's ruin and they will have to leave the theatre company.

Ohh, I see. This was sent in by listener Yumeka-san. The message reads:
"Ohno-san, good morning. I've been learning modern dance since I was little, so when I heard this I thought, while practice has its benefits, it can also have a bad side. I'd like to keep dancing without forgetting my original intentions. Lately, have you had any times where you thought you've been getting too accustomed to something?"

Ohh. Well, yeah. When people get used to something, well, it can be a good thing. But if it erases your original intentions, it can be scary.

For me, something which I've thought has been really hopeless - where it's so hopeless, I've become so used it to the point I've completely lost interest. Where I lost interest in it as of this summer...

...Fashion.

Like up until now, I've gone to work in my sleep-wear a few times before. But this year, it's pretty much been 100% sleep-wear.

But hear me out! We're currently filming the movie now, so I wake up, right? And then I get in the car and we head to the countryside. And that takes 2-3 hours.

So we reach the filming location, and then I immediately get changed into the ninja costume. And then once filming ends, I take off the ninja costume, put on my own clothes and then spend 2-3 hours going home.

So is there any point in fashion there? Ninja clothes are the height of fashion! (laughs)

Right? I mean, in the car I'm just going to sleep anyway, so it's easier to sleep in sleep-wear, right? See, it makes sense!

Right now? I'm in the middle of radio recording. Of course I wouldn't be wearing ninja clothes, right?

So yeah, right now... (laughs) I'm in my sleep-wear. But today I was a little more careful, I didn't want to let it get too terrible, so I've kinda thrown on a shirt?

Today we have Music Station, right? So that means a costume, right? (laughs) Right?

So right, um, the other day, on VS Arashi, I was given a costume of the sort I don't normally wear. So there were these long pants and this sorta stylish white boot-like shoes and a navy blue shirt.

So I was walking down the corridor when I met a staff member who was like, "Eh? Oh-chan!"

"Eh, Oh-chan, eh?? Are those your own clothes?"

"No, they're not."

"Right! I was surprised!"

So when I was about to go back? My own clothes.

"That's more like it, Oh-chan. Oh-chan's more like this, right?"

"That's right. Sleep-wear." (laughs)

So that's how it's been. As you'd expect, that needs to change! This winter.

That's right, last year, I started wearing boots. I bought some. So maybe I should buy another pair, then! (laughs) I'll buy some nice boots; I've decided!

Right! Let's become more fashionable!

That's all; this was Ohno Satoshi!
