Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Here's today's thought of the day; come on!

"Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing." [1]

[BGM 'Fukkatsu LOVE']

Oh, that makes an impression. That's a great quote.

This is a quote by the American professor in human behaviour, Denis Waitley-san. People grow by experiencing the good and the bad. Doing nothing means that you experience nothing. To avoid such a risk, we should act.

That's a great quote. This was sent in by listener Misa-san. The message reads:
"Whenever any dispute arises, I always do nothing and go into my safety zone. But when I heard this quote, I realised that what I thought of my safety zone was not necessarily all that safe. Ohno-kun, when people you know argue and so on, do you force your way in and mediate? Or do you do nothing and watch?"

Ahh. Certainly. Doing nothing, right? To take no action in everything. So no luck would come around, either. Since you're loaded with a negative aura. (laughs) And then, naturally, um, I know that it's not good to take too many breaks. Like, the amount of time you spend sleeping automatically increases.

Then when you do that, it becomes a waste of your waking hours. Like, if you wake up at the time you're normally sleeping... For example, for people who normally can't wake up early. There are just times when your body can't keep up, right? Mm.

For example, if every once a month, you kinda have time where you can take it easy. Then suddenly, bam! You have to work from morning to midnight. You totally wouldn't be able to carry it off, right? (laughs)

I'm just saying whatever comes to mind. But well, that's fine. Man, so like for me too, I don't really stay still too long, surprisingly.

Like a little while ago, I had my solo exhibition and I was painting and stuff. Then for the time being, I was done. At that time, I wasn't drawing, I wasn't dancing, I wasn't singing... Just as I was thinking, isn't there anything new to do?...

Um, when I asked Okada Junichi, he'd just started doing Jeet Kune Do. Naturally, you just started itching to move. Doing something new yourself.

Mm. So I still can't really go all that frequently, though. Mm. But depending on the time. From now on, I'd like to continue doing it as well.

Ahh, yeah. So like, for that question. Do I step in and mediate when there's a quarrel or something?

Well, I think I'd be itching to do something. I couldn't just sit and watch. I'd probably get involved. I might not be able to do anything, but the least I could do is hear out their sides of the matter. Mm. So let's go with that.

So on that note, folks, it's no good to just stay in your safety zone all the time!

That's all; this was Ohno Satoshi!
