Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.

Oh, certainly. It's tough.
This is a quote by the first president of the International Badminton Federation, Sir George Thomas. This was sent in by listener Mai-san. The message reads:
"Good morning. I'm a first-year middle-schooler in the badminton club. I heard of this quote when I started badminton. I'm still quite lousy at it, but I'll do my best to be someone who can deceive in badminton!"
Oh, that's great, Mai-san. In the badminton club, huh? I was in the badminton club, too. Yeah. I've talked about various badminton stories before. I'd prefer being good at it too. Well, back then, I didn't really go for all the external training. Like, it was apparently pretty amazing.
But well, um, I've just suddenly remembered this, but when I was in the club, when I came back home and went into the toilet... Then there's the toilet seat, right? When you lift up the seat, the toilet bowl... it's like a doughnut with a hole, right? The hole part, the shape... I remember thinking that it was about the same size as a badminton racket head. I've never actually measured it properly though.
That's what I thought. Back when I was in the club. (laughs) The shape is definitely the same. I thought that was wonderful. I wondered which one took after the other? (laughs)
Have a look, Mai-san! Now though, I don't know. The shape of the toilet bowl may have changed, for all I know. But at the time, right in the middle of my toilet bowl... The width was probably the same, too. I don't know if racquets these days have changed, but it was definitely the same. I'd like to compare them.
I don't have a racquet anymore, so I don't know. But I wonder why didn't I compare it back then? It was right when I was doing badminton. I was thinking that when I entered the toilet. For those of you who do badminton, well, I don't know. Well, for those of you who have a racquet. It's the same size! I'd like you to mail in about that.
Sorry about that. To be talking about toilets so early in the morning. It just suddenly hit me. Badminton is badminton, after all. Yeah. Yeah, please try it out. It was something that I was kinda fascinated by in middle school (laughs). I just remembered. Please excuse me!
