Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.

Ohh. Well, if you aren’t driven into a corner, right, you won’t do things when the time calls for it.
How is it for me? I guess I don’t really tell people about my weaknesses. I just tell myself. (laughs) I drive myself into corners. Just like an idiot, seriously. But I haven’t really cornered myself lately.
Like when I was making figures, right... (laughs) What was it? I was always cornering myself. Now... now, I kinda don’t know any more.
Ah, yeah, I’m going to do that soon. Oil painting.
That’s right. I’ve never done it before. So the other day, I was kinda, well, I was talking with a friend about painting.
“Speaking of oil paintings, you haven’t tried it before, have you?”
“Yeah. I mean, it doesn’t dry, right?”
“I guess.”
Well, that and the fact that it’s hard to paint fine details. But my friend mentioned that the fun of it was in layering the colours, stuff like that.
But sure enough, that time when I was in Paris and went to the Louvre museum to see the oil paintings... There were detailed paintings and, um, all different types. I kinda thought, “Ah, now this is interesting”. Mm. So I figured maybe I’d try it.
It’s definitely incredible. How they could paint those at that period. That’s what I ended up thinking. I mean, they didn’t have photographs in those days, right? Their powers of observation were really something, I thought. Being that detailed and realistic.
Well, so I guess I’ll try oil paintings. Like scenery and so on.. I can’t draw that. I can’t draw unless there are living things in there somewhere. So that’s why I'll draw people. (laughs)
So for the first... my first attempt at oil painting.
I’ll drive myself to try it!
