[BGM 'Face Down']
Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Every Friday I respond to messages received on this show.
First up is a message from Nao-san of Saitama.
"'Tis the season for scrumptious stews! Oh-chan, what are your top 3 favourite stew ingredients?"
Ohh. Stews are scrumptious, huh.
As for me, chicken. And potatoes. And corn. As long as you add those, I'm good. Those are my three. Yeah. Nao-chan, what are yours?
Right, moving on. One from Keiko-san of Tokyo, Shinagawa.
"I went for karaoke with a friend for the first time in a while the other day. We spent 6 hours singing plenty of karaoke songs and had a lot of fun. Oh-chan, have you been for karaoke recently? What songs do you sing?"
Ahh, I did go for karaoke. Speaking of which...it was a little while ago. I went and didn't sing a single song. We drank, talked and completely forgot about singing somehow. Even though we were looking forward to it. And then by the time we noticed, it was time to go home. "Ah, we didn't sing today!" (laughs) So we didn't get to sing. Next time, I'll be sure to sing!
Right then. Today we'll be listening to my voice from 10 years ago. Is it okay if we do it now? Since it's the 10th anniversary commemorations, it's all good, right? Right, I think I sense some evil afoot.
Yesterday's was terrible... And apparently today's will be even worse. Right. This one?
Episode 2003.06.20. Theme: "Voice actor". Man, I don't like this!
(2003.06.20 recording begins)
But you know, I quite like voice actors' voices. For example, I like Dragonball. I like
Goku's voice . I mean,
she's not just Goku. She does
Gohan's and
Goten's voices too. And they're all male roles. She's pretty awesome. And not only that, she does both adult and kid voices equally well. How does she do it? You can't help but wonder.
But you know, I'd like to try it someday. A proper full-blown one. Yeah. And when that happens, please listen to it! Yoropiku! Piku piku![1]
That's all; this was Ohno Satoshi!
Seriously?? (laughs) I was sure getting into it. I just wanted to say it. Quit it already with that! (laughs) Though they said, "Can you want to redo the end bit?" But if you asked me to do stuff like that today, I'd hate it! It's kinda embarrassing.
Shall we do one more? Maybe this'll help redeem myself.
Since this is the last one, I should say something seriously serious, right? Since it's the final one. Although I should've been saying it seriously 10 years ago.
Right, finally. This'll really be the last one.
Right, Episode 2003.04.15. Theme: "How would you categorise the Arashi members?" Eh, what's that?
(2003.04.15 recording begins)
How would you categorise the Arashi members? Let me think about it a little. Firstly... how should I do this?
Sho-kun. Sakurai Sho. I think he's the beard type. As for why, it's because the first thing he does when he gets to work is shaves his beard with a shaver.
Next! Nino. He's the pet type. As for why this is? Um, well he often touches me. Almost like a pet.
Next! MatsuJun. He's the fashion type. He tends to have all sorts of clothes.
Next! Aiba-chan. He's the fighting spirit type. For interview comments and stuff, he's usually all, "It's about fighting spirit, it's your fighting spirit!"
And finally. How would I categorise myself, Ohno Satoshi? It's a little embarrassing to be saying this myself, but...
(Don't say it! Don't say it! DON'T SAY IT!)
Tani Kei[2].
That's all; this was Ohno Satoshi!
UWAAAAAA! Make it stop, seriously! What? I mean, they said "Right, that's a wrap!" to this back then? What was I thinking when I said this, I wonder?
It was probably that, right? Um, for the four of them, that sort of stuff was all discussed. And then when it came to me, nothing was discussed. Ah, if only they'd discussed my bit, everything would've worked out! Something like that was discussed, methinks. Probably.
Man, so that was the first year since I began doing radio? That's how it was? I was a mess. I was just taking the mickey out of radio. (laughs)
Now I'm kinda curious. If this is what I was like 10 years ago, what would I have said 5 years ago? If we pick a few serious episodes once in a while. I should've said some good stuff at some point. I mean, I remember having said a few myself. (laughs) So bring 'em out!
So even if it's been more than 10 years, never mind. Let's do it. This way, I'll start thinking before I speak from now on. We'll gradually get some quality radio here. We should do a public reflection session. (laughs) Right? Right.
So in any case, well, apologies about that. From now on, I'd like to get some quality radio going!
See you next week; this was Ohno Satoshi!

[1] This is a distortion of 'yoroshiku' (best regards, with your favour please etc).
[2] This is a pun. 系(kei) means 'type', so we've had 'beard kei', 'pet kei' etc. You get the picture... XD
Aww, it was a good run while it lasted. Here's to Leader for another 10 years of whimsical radio!
