The Dreamer's Awakening Chapter 2

Jul 19, 2010 20:24

Trey had a bad childhood, Zack wasn’t sure what all had happened to him but he could see the pain, as well as the anger and hatred he felt towards his father. Whenever his dad was brought into a conversation Trey would get hostile and defensive. There would be a killing edge in his voice.
“Zack, Jordan, you two are looking good today. Did you get a good workout this morning?” Trey asked as a smirk formed on his lips.
Jordan blushed. “…thanks, um yea it wasn’t too bad I guess.”
Zack smiled, his eyes not leaving treys. “Your not looking bad yourself. The workout was alright. Did you have fun in Coach Yates’ class?”
Trey’s smirk never faded, “thanks. Eh it wasn’t too bad, it being nothing but basketball and all, I managed.”
Jordan was still blushing; Zack nodded but before he could speak Trey’s eyes flashed to Jordan’s blushing face and the smirk grew bigger as he spoke. “You know Jordan you’re really cute when you blush like that. Your not blushing that bad just because I told you that you looked good today are you?”
Jordan stammered and blushed even redder as he looked at the ground. Trey didn’t let up though. He moved just a bit so that he was closer to Jordan, which made it so that only the three of them could hear what he said next.

“I guess that would be a yes. If you’re blushing that hard just from me talking, I’d love to see how hard you blush while I’m having my way with you.”
Jordan’s jaw dropped, he lost what little speech he had been able to muster. Zack was shocked as well. He could not believe that Trey had just done that.

Trey’s hand slipped inside the pocket of Jordan’s pants and came out with his cell phone. He punched in a number and then made a call; apparently nobody answered because immediately after he hung up and punched in a different number then handed the phone back to Jordan.
“That’s my number; I’d save it if I were you. Call me if you ever want to hang out or something.” He said with a smile.

Jordan slowly took the phone from him, still trying to process all that had just happened. Without thinking he looked up at Trey and asked. “Do you want my number?”
Trey smiled, “Are you offering it to me?” Jordan nodded, “its ok, I already have it.” Trey said as he winked at them. “Well I have to get going. Don’t want to be late for class. I’ll see you two around sometime.” With that he walked into the library building and Jordan and Zack parted ways to get to their classes.

By the end of 2nd period Zack had still been unable to figure out why he had dreamt of Trey but why Trey had done all that to Jordan. It didn’t make any sense at all. Finally Zack decided that he would just have to confront Trey about both the dream and about whatever game he was playing with the two of them. Zack didn’t know what Trey’s 3rd period was but he did know that he had C lunch, even though he never came to lunch. He left school as soon as lunch started with a friend and they either got high or just smoked a couple cigarettes. Trey would drop the guy off at school at the end of lunch and then go wherever he felt like going.

He wouldn’t see Trey again until tomorrow after 1st period, maybe during if his weight training class went into the old gym to play basketball. He doubted they would though. That was when an idea struck him, walking faster he caught up with Jordan and asked to see his phone. Jordan looked a little confused still, but nodded, Zack looked through Jordan’s phone until he found Trey’s number and he copied it down onto his hand. Quickly thanking Jordan, Zack walked to his 3rd period. Halfway through class, Zack pulled out his phone and sent trey a text.
“What are you doing?” he asked
“Who is this?” Trey asked
“What would you say if I said it was someone you knew??”
“Then I would have to say that this must be your first time playing this game because that was totally too much information to give out so quickly.”
“You talk like this isn’t your first time?”
“No, this isn’t my first time; you could say I’m a pro. So here are the rules, you’ll probably tell me in a few minutes. I can’t ask your name or for any thing that would point you out physically in a crowd. Usually you will only tell me your height, weight, hair color. It’s best to use vague descriptions and answers when I start questioning you.” Zack blinked, Trey knew all that too well, plus he had said it like he had learned the rules from experience and Zack figured he probably got hurt as well.

“You weren’t lying when you said that you had played this game before.”
“No, I wouldn’t waste my breathe lying about something like that.”
“I guess that’s true.”
“You really are an amateur, but it's whatever now. More importantly, why are you texting me?”
“I wanted to talk to you.”
“You couldn’t do it in person? Are you that much of a coward?
Or are you too cool to talk to me where people might see?”
“It's none of those; I wasn’t sure how to approach you. Or when I would see you.”
“I guess that’s a good reason. So you want to talk huh?”
“You could say that.”
“Your catching on to the rules now, you might get pretty good at this game in time.”
“Thanks I guess”
“No problem, look I’m not really a fan of this whole thing. Let’s meet up? I know a place where no one will recognize you and we can talk in person without being eavesdropped on.”
"What you explain the rules, then just ditch the game?"
"I've played this game too much. it bores me, i dont care who you are. you want to ask questions do it in person, im pretty honest most of the time. so can we skip this game and just meet?"
“I guess that will work? Where is this place?”
“It’s in Fayetteville. Off of Eastern Blvd. do you know where that is?
“Yea I think so.”
“Once you’re on Raeford when you see the Baldino’s parking lot that’s where you need to park and wait for me got it?”
“When?”
“how bout this Saturday?”
”I guess that could work”
“Cool, meet me there at 10pm got it?”
“Yea I will see you then.”
“Good, oh and you can feel free to pump me for info on anything you want to know about me and feel free to call me as well.”
”Ok.”

Zack put his phone up and thought about what Trey had said. He was a little nervous about meeting him in Fayetteville on Saturday but at least that gave him three days to get to know him a little better. Soon the bell rang and Zack left class. Once he got into his Fourth period, he sat down next to Jordan. Jordan looked at him and opened his mouth but before he could say anything, Mr. Tyler called for the class’ attention. After a few minutes of listening to Mr. Tyler talk Jordan leaned over and whispered to Zack.

“Hey Zack, What did you need my phone for?”
Zack smiled. “I needed Trey’s number.”
“Why?”
“Because I needed to talk to him and I didn’t want him to know it was me. So I got his number from your phone and texted him from mine because I knew that he wouldn’t recognize the number.”

Zack decided not  to say anything about meeting Trey on saturday, it would just stir up too many questions he wasnt sure he could answer right now. he leaned back in his chair and tried to come up with some sort of plan for the weekend, he had no clue what to expect and wasnt sure how things would go once Trey saw who it was.
