It's been quite a while since I've posted anything on here. But I guess it's time again. Not too much to report, really. I have classes, including two seminars that are keeping me very busy. But I'm enjoying them all. My exercise science seminar is the best so far, I really like just being able to work on research independantly, on topics I am ( Read more... )

Hey, I just thought I'd offer my two cents. The Twin Cities has amazing human service organizations. I did job placement with AmeriCorps at one of them last year. It's a great field and I had a good time with the job itself. That being said, you could also do AmeriCorps, which is volunteerism, but they give you a living allowance and food stamps to help you live. In any case, if this is what you decide to do, I have plenty of contacts in the Cities that could help you out.

Regarding school, I'd recommend going when you're ready. Pushing yourself to do it too soon might make you very miserable. At the same time, if you feel like you are ready, but just don't feel like it, it might be worth going anyway.

At any rate, do what you think will make you happiest. Having everything figured out is overrated, though plans are good. Good luck and G-d bless!

I definitely understand your indecision here. I finally opted out of going to medical school because I don't think my tenuous mental health can handle it. I'm going to be doing missionary work abroad for a year, then probably maybe possibly teaching high school ( ... )

Ah yes, I'm totally sick of school too but at the same time terrified of going out and finding a job. It's not fun. :P

The jobs that you don't think you're qualified for...do you know you need grad school or something like that that you don't have in order to get the job? If it doesn't say "MBA required" or somethingn like that, I say apply, you never know.

I think with finding a job somewhere you should probably make a list of things that are important to you. Like is it important to be close to your family/friends? Or do you think you could start someplace new? Is it more important that your job pay well or be something that you love? Doing something like that will probably help you narrow down your choices.

I still think you should come to Pittsburgh and get an apartment with me. Did you know that I probably won't graduate on time? So I'll be here for quite awhile...

Please??

The personal trainer one is probably going to be hard to get into without a degree IN that area (what did you ever decide your bachelor's would be in? I remember a huge period of "I dunno" about that, but not the final answer ( ... )
