It's been quite a while since I've posted anything on here. But I guess it's time again. Not too much to report, really. I have classes, including two seminars that are keeping me very busy. But I'm enjoying them all. My exercise science seminar is the best so far, I really like just being able to work on research independantly, on topics I am ( Read more... )

The personal trainer one is probably going to be hard to get into without a degree IN that area (what did you ever decide your bachelor's would be in? I remember a huge period of "I dunno" about that, but not the final answer..)

And the chemical dependency house? Definitely, DEFINITELY really consider whether or not you can handle something like that. And talk to people who have worked in one...I have heard horror stories that beat all. Those people are just about at the end of their rope, they are desperate, and a lot of times, they are violent... but they need the help more than anyone. So, if it's something you can handle, God bless you for it.

I think you should apply to jobs that you really are drawn to, like the ones you listed, and just see what they say. At least as far as the "social services" ones go...you'd be surprised how 'underqualified' you can be, because they need bodies. You'll be paid horribly, but you can at least find out if the job (like for example, chemical dependency) is something worth going back to school for...or if you're sick of it in a year and never want a career from it. If you can't find a *great* job, then just settle for a job. Life experience is still life experience, and it'll help point you to what you really want.
