So I haven't updated for nearly a fortnight. The good news is that it's the weekend. Even though I'm tired, I'm staying up late, well, later than normal, by the awesome fact I can sleep til whenever I want and not to be awoken by an alarm.
The past two weeks at work has been very contrasting. Work wise, I've had disagreements with the boss over certain procedures, til now, the biggest problem was won by me, as he finally realised yesterday that his way wasn't working. On the other hand, I have become good friends with a colleague in another division. She's in the same section of the floor, but even though she's in another division we do need to communicate with each other for some inter-division dealings. It takes like ten seconds for me to walk over to her desk, but sometimes we're so lazy that we call on the phone, and I can hear it ring and hear her pick up, how stupid is that, haha. She's born in the same year as me and has worked there a few months longer than me. We talk about all sorts of things, mainly TV and movies since we've discovered we like similar things. We like Futurama, The Simpsons, Scrubs, but love Arrested Development much more. We've done some swaps of DVDs, it's great! One day we'll probably get in trouble though, for talking too much and not doing work, haha.
During this week we've also received the news that a member of my team will be leaving the company at the end of the month. This isn't such good news as this will mean I will have to take over her duties. Originally my boss did tell me that I will be trained to do her stuff as a backup, but now I guess the story is different. Yes, we are looking to hire someone, but so far candidates haven't looked good and even if we find someone, I know that I'll be taking over some of left behind. I don't mind that as this way I can drop some duties I currently have. This hasn't been discussed extensively with my boss, but that's the only way that can happen as it's impossible for me to take on more things when I'm quite occupied most days. It will be even more difficult as another person will be on leave for a while at the end of the month.
I've decided that I'll be watching more movies. There are a number of DVDs at home that I haven't watched. Last weekend I watched Donnie Darko and Requiem for A Dream, recommended by the girl mentioned above. They're her favourites films. I like Donnie Darko more, probably because Requiem for A Dream is about drugs and that's not my thing. No doubt, it's a great film, awesome soundtrack too, hopefully that will finish downloading this weekend. I don't think I'll start this weekend, but I'll definitely see the Lord of The Rings trilogy. Yes that's right, I haven't seen any of them. I have no comments now, but I'll definitely say something about it after I've seen them. As for tomorrow, I'm not sure, but something will tickle my appetite.
