Home on a Monday

It's Monday and I'm home. Why? That's because it's Queen's Birthday holiday! Yay! God save the Queen! haha. I don't know how this date got decided upon. This holiday falls on the second Monday of every June, whereas the Queen's real birthday is in April I believe. Oh well, I'm not complaining, it's an extra day to do absolutely nothing at home!

The World Cup has started, the French Open has ended. I've stayed up to watch a few matches, yet to wake up early, but that will happen. The French Open finished last night. It wasn't the result I was hoping for. Things weren't going well at home either when mum kept on being her annoying self, plus more. Majority of things that come out of her mouth are negative, just like normal life, it sucks to have to hear that around the place, and of course, she's never to be blamed for anything, that just doesn't happen. Any way. The men's final was a bit disappointing, I thought the contest would be closer, but it wasn't the case. I was expecting five sets, but only went to four. This friend of mine watches sport for 'investment' purposes. He bets on them. I've always considered sport as entertainment, to enjoy their skills and strength. Every time I speak to him around sporting events it always comes to the argument about whether sportsbetting is gambling or investing. It's funny how he continually says he only bets on things he's 'certain' about, but lose. Also, when I ask how he's been going in the winnings, he began with, 'If I didn't make a mistake last night, I would be up whatever' - that statement in itself has something wrong don't you think? He told me he worked out that in order for him to breakeven, he had to bet $330, so he could win $80. That sounds bloody crap I tell you. Giving up all that money just for that little gain, and if it's not a gain, it's a 100% loss. Somehow people like him don't see it that way, that's called being greedy. For me, I don't think I have that much money to throw away, and I'm not willing to take on risks like that, and I definitely wouldn't call it investing.

The past week has been full of rain. It's something different. It has been years since I've seen rain in Sydney like that, there were actually puddles. Still, this rain isn't going to break the drought that we're in the middle of, it's been five years since we've had decent rainfall. Rainy days might be annoying with the umbrellas and forgetting to take umbrellas, etc, but we need them. Today, the rain's not longer here, and there's not even a cloud in the sky.
