I tell you what, avid readers, I have never felt more sexy in my life than I do right now.
My pneumonia has digivolved into one of the nasty strains of influenza, and I have a high grade bronchial infection and a run-of-the-mill, just-to-be-annoying sinus infection. So I have a cocktail of plagues, really.
The doctor took one look in my throat yesterday and recoiled and said, "I really wish I hadn't seen that..."
Ohhh yeah.
Pus-filled blisters. Mucus. No voice (my family doesn't really see the problem with this), racking coughing that's now producing, erm, pieces, and the fever.
Oh the fever. It peaked 105-106 about 8pm last night and it was probably the most painful part of this whole journey (well counting every time I swallow). I literally felt like my eyeballs were boiling in my skull. They burnt and seemed to fizz like they had tiny pin-head-sized blisters popping on them. And my face felt like it was going to peel off.
I had the warm baths and then the ice baths (not really so much fun), then on the couch with a cold compress on my head and I listened to Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth". That man has a nice relaxing voice. I didn't really pay a LOT of attention, but frankly I don't care if that doco-movie was shot with innaccuracies. It's still going to happen, whether some of his statistics are fudged or not. It's happening right now. But he does have a nice voice.
I also managed to put aside my own worries and entertain my family, too
Mid-way through a fever delirum I sat up and started talking about how much I loved the special aloe vera tissues dad had bought for me. "It's like shooting boogers into a cloud" I believe were my exact words of praise. I'm thinking I should contact Kleenex and get in on their next promotional tour. No? Oh.
I also mumbled something about "needs more cheese" but considering the title of my blog and how it came about (sleep-talking), that one's not so hard to imagine.

Ha ha! I just gave Woody (the smallest of my 2 poodles) the last spoonfull of my jelly. He licked it and survived (he's very anxious about new foods, so he has to cautiously try them first), so then he sucked it into his mouth and spazzed out. I guess nobody told him it'd be quite so jelly-y...
That makes me happy. I think now it's time for a nap.
