I couldn't understand why a friend of mine liked Redhat so much. It turns out he doesn't use any RPMs, and compiles everything from source.

I hate RPMs too.

All package managers suck. It's just a question of which ones suck more than others, and RPM is near the top of the list.

dpkg/apt is the most elegant and least fucked package manager I've ever used.
