my deep headaches brought on by angry sinuses are only now starting to subside. weekend before last was mostly miserable, which was disappointing since it was the long holiday weekend. luckily this past weekend was much nicer, even though it was mostly lazy. nick and i were home fairly early on friday night and probably in bed by midnight or so.
i insisted on getting his haircut this weekend; he last got it cut a month ago, and being quarter-sicilian his hair grows so fast, especially when it had been cut so short. a two-guard all over, soft and buzzed. this time he just had the sides cleaned up, and now he says he feels like a marine or feels like he's back in the navy.
we came home and he situated himself in front of his computer to vegetate, and i laid in bed in pajamas reading until i finished enough pages and a couple chapters that i was drowsy. asked nick to put my book on the dresser for me, rolled over and napped for a couple hours. lovely.
and lovely waking up to nick spooning me and calling me a sleepy girl.
we'll have been together nine months on thursday.
i'm pretty sure the fourth toe on my right foot is broken from when a husky drunk guy stomped on it while dancing to 'dancing queen' at a party on saturday night. i was sure to keep my feet off the floor whenever i was sitting down for the rest of the night. i felt pretty in my burgundry dress and a multi-layered pearl and bead necklace, even if my toe was hurting. it's been a long time since i was out that late - i don't think nick and i got home until 3:00.
i ended up finishing the book i was reading yesterday. i have a few other books i've been meaning to read, including a tale of two cities, which is terribly overdue from the library along with a biographical novel about lady jane grey. i haven't read dickens since high school, but i remember liking it a lot.
looking forward to next week when nick and i will be house / pet / pool-sitting for my cousin. spending every evening in the pool, and hoping for good weather that weekend for a little sun and accompanying sunburn and freckles.
