during the night.
i hate summer colds. congestion that comes out of nowhere, stuffy nose and stuffy ears, inflammed throat and lots of coughing. i felt lousy when i woke up this morning, but mustered up enough energy to get up and go to breakfast with nick. we immediately went back to bed as soon as we got home, and i fell asleep quickly even though all my head congestion was making it difficult to breathe. i'm sure was very snorey and drooly from being all sniffly - lucky nick.
i heard my sister and parents milling around the house, talking in the kitchen, heard my sister wrangle her cat into her carrier to drive back home to her apartment in mooresville, and heard my parents come into my room to tell nick and i that they were going to the winery for the afternoon for a luncheon and would be home sometime this evening. i think i hardly stirred, but did hear nick tell mom and daddy he would look after me. i don't know what time i woke up after that, if i woke up on my own or if nick finally stirred me.
we laid around all afternoon watching movies in the living room, covering up with down comforters because the ceiling fan made it a little cold in the room. the blinds were shut and it was probably getting warm outside, but by late afternoon it was getting much cloudier. rumbly thunder finally rolled in, and nick left shortly after the storm came up leaving me to lay around idlely for the rest of the evening. my body aches and my head and eyes are heavy. i'm looking forward to a soothing shower and climbing into bed where nick slept with me last night.
i hope there's a silent movie coming on at midnight - i love falling asleep to the music and the flicker.
