My family is so cool. Tonight we went out for my dad's 50th birthday.
Did we go out for a nice dinner? No. Did we spend some nice quality
time together, talking and bonding? No so much. Did we head out to the
Lantern Inn- a dive with signs saying "Truckers Welcome!" and an Elvis
impersonator? Yeah, that's the one. It was so much fun. First of all,
they didn't card any of us. My sister and I are definitely under 21,
but they didn't even so much as ask! Now, for any of you who know my
parents, this part may be surprising to you. We were all drinking- not
getting drunk, but drinking (we were there with our whole family,
Danielle (Joe's gf), and 4 of my parents' friends). At one point we
ordered two shots of something called Lakewater- one for my dad and one
for my mom. I have pictures of my parents taking shots! Hahahaha! The
Elvis impersonator was kind of a comic as well... I swear, this was the
strangest, coolest place I've ever seen. At some point I want to bring
all my friends so you can all see how bizarre The Lantern Inn is. What
a night.
Oo, party favors. That's right. Don't stop being a kid at heart. Always be crazy.
