A/N: The idea belongs to
misschatelle , because she's great like that! I guess, she just wanted Onew to make that kind of huge mistake. XD Oh well, here is the first chapter, please tell me if it's worth a second chapter! Hope you understand where the story is going. @.@
Jinki was forcefully dragged in this bar, he swore he was. Jaebum and Wooyoung forced him to step into the dark place and get lost in the crowd of people dancing and laughing. Well, maybe they weren't all laughing, but they were certainly trying to speak all at the same time. All the people on the dancefloor were probably trying to be heard in the loud music that was playing. Jinki could barely recognize the song, but that wasn't really important anyway.
He wanted to find his friends in the big crowd, so he could at least have someone to rely to if something went wrong. You never know with so much people around. But Jinki couldn't find anyone, they were probably trying to pick up girls or something, and it would be good for himself if he tried to do the same. He had been teased by his friends before because he never tried to simply flirt with girls. Not that he didn't have girl friends, because he did. Very nice and pretty girl friends. But he didn't like them in...that way.
So there he stood, near the counter where he had ordered a drink. He was still trying to search for someone he knew, a plain acquaintance would do, but he couldn't find anyone since he was getting dizzy with all the movements and loud noises around him. The red and yellow lights were flashing on and off, making the crowd look even more agitated. As if there weren't enough energy in the atmosphere as it was.
Jinki liked the ambiance, but being alone was quite sad and depressing. Especially when everybody around him were being asked to dance and he could just gaze at them vanishing into the sea of people on the dancefloor. He sighed as the person behind the counter gave him the drink he had asked for earlier. He was feeling more and more depressed. Getting drunk in a bar would definitely not help his already lost case. But it sure would make him forget about him somehow.
Then Jaebum suddenly showed up, swimming his way up to him and smiling widely. Jinki was suspicious because this smile only meant one thing.
"We've got dates! And they say one of their friends has yet to show up! You comin'?"
Jinki had expected this. It was always the same; meeting up with some girls he could hardly remember the name and spending the night in a crampy place were tones of drunk people would try hitting on him. Then the girl would just disappear with another guy somewhere around midnight, so he would be left alone with himself, still single, still not in love and still being teased by his best friends.
"No thank you. I'll just...hang around here and...you know..." He smiled at Jaebeom and pointed the counter.
"Argh! Damn it Jinki! You can't get drunk when a hot girl wants you! Come on! They're waiting for us!"
Jinki shook his head and snatched his arm away from Jaebum's grip. The other frowned at him and shrugged with a disinterested look. He turned around and walked back into the crowd.
"Fine, be that way!"
Jinki sighed and wondered why he wasn't leaving this place. It smelled weird, everyone looked suspicious and he was seriously getting a headache with those lights. He looked at the liquid twirl around in his glass for a while. He was amused because it looked like a mini-tornado. He continued to move his hand in circles to make the tornado grow bigger and bigger.
He stopped his movements to drink some of the content of his glass. Jinki stared at his foot and noticed how it was changing colors with the lights. Green, yellow, red, green, blue. His white shoes were kind of boring to look at, but at least he didn't feel like throwing up when he stared at them.
He slowly moved his eyes up just in time to catch Jaebum and some girl getting out of the crowd and take a seat beside a window. Jinki was about to walk up to them, changing his mind about meeting the girl Jaebum at mentioned earlier. Maybe she would be the right one. Just maybe.
Unfortunatly, he didn't have the chance to get to the couple because someone bumped into him -hard- and sent him to the floor. He rubbed his sore head that had just hit the side of a chair and looked up.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" A girl said as she knelt down beside him. "Are you okay?"
Jinki blushed and shook his head in various directions. The girl helped him stood up and stood beside him when he tried to fix his thoughts into place. He eyed her up and down, not too subtly.
"Are you okay?" She asked again looking a bit worried.
The boy gulped down the excess of saliva in his mouth. The girl had a not-too-short not-too-long pink skirt which swang gracefully each time she moved her hips. She had white sandals that matched perfectly with her white sleeveless shirt. Jinki was in an trance that he could not break, until he looked up at her face, noticing that she was not wearing any make-up -a detail that pleased him- and was looking a bit annoyed by his staring.
"W-what?" She snapped, probably not as harshly as she planned. "Are you okay?"
"Ah, sorry! Yeah I'm...fine," He said, looking at his empty glass and his stained t-shirt.
The girl didn't say anything and grabbed the front of his shirt, making his body grow stiff. She didn't say a word until he felt her rub a towel against the stain on the shirt. He vaguely wondered where she had taken that convenient towel, but decided that it was not important.
"I'm so sorry about this, really."
"It's alright, it's not like it was on purpose,"
The girl smiled and nodded, looking satisfied with the way Jinki thought. After succeeding in fading the stain away a bit, she nervously backed off. She looked adorable fidgeting with ehr fingers like that.
"What's- er. your name?" Jinki managed to say. The music really was loud.
"My name?" She asked, looking puzzled or scared. Jinki nodded eagerly. "Ki- Kim Gwiboon," She nervously answered and Jinki thought she had made it up. Nobody made that kind of face while they were saying their name. Nobody looked so unsure of themselves when introducing.
But he brushed it aside with a smile. If she didn't want to say her real name, then Kim Gwiboon she would be.
"Mine is Lee Jinki," He said happily and the girl scowled at him. She didn't look too pleased to talk with him and seemed to constantly search for something in the crowd.
"You're...uh..."
Gwiboon looked up at Jinki when he spoke up. Staring at him with her deep brown eyes, her hair falling just above them.
"You're with your boyfriend?" Jinki asked reluctantly, rocking on his feet awkwardly.
Gwiboon snorted. "Boyfriend? I don't have a boyfriend. Why are you asking me that? And what are you being so nervous for?" She scolded, making Jinki blush a deep shade of red. He didn't even know he could get so colorful because of a girl.
"I- What I mean is..."
"Want to dance?" She cut in, not even looking at the boy in front of her. Gwiboon still looked out to the crowd, still searching for something, or someone.
"I'm not really good with my feet...I'm a bit clumsy actually," He said honestly.
"Then do you want a drink? My treat, since I screwed up your shirt."
Jinki nodded and they walked toward some chairs where they could sit down. The boy smiled shyly and clutched the seat of his chair in his hands. He noticed that the girl in front of him was swinging her feet nervously. He didn't really know why he had accepted to sit with her, he didn't know how to flirt. Or more like; he failed at flirting.
"Okay, so are you going to stay silent?" She asked, watching him bit his lips and chuckle.
"No, I mean...there really is nothing interesting about me...just talk about yourself?" He said, looking everywhere but in Gwiboon's eyes. They made him unnerved for some reason.
"Hmm, my life is not that interesting either you know...school and...stuff,"
Jinki smiled at her and hoped he had spotted a shade of pink on her pale cheeks, but then again maybe it was just the light turning to red. And so they gazed at each other, both feeling some kind of tension in the atmosphere.
"So uhm...Which school are you going to?" Jinki asked, trying to make them more relaxed so they could enjoy the conversation instead of being awkward.
"Uh...Garam. You?"
"Nadam-"
"You're going to the same school as Yesung!?" Gwiboon shrieked, slamming both of her hands on the table in a very un-girly way.
"Uhm, well he graduated and all," Jinki felt himself shrink in front of the wide-eyed, hopeful girl staring at him intently.
"Yeah, he's probably in America or somewhere far now..." She mumbled and smiled at Jinki.
This little realisation about Jinki going to the same school as Gwiboon's idol made the mood lighter. Jinki was now talking about things he didn't even know he knew and even though he looked a little bit like an idiot searching for his words or making bad jokes, Gwiboon didn't seem to mind that much. She laughed and told him he what he was; an idiot, but she never shrugged it off and pretended to remember something she had to do. Most of the girls Jinki had met ended up escaping this way.
"So you're here with your friends?" Gwiboon asked at one point, still giggling at Jinki's previous bad joke.
"Yeah, well, they pick up girls while I...wait here," Jinki scratched the back of his head.
"Hmm...so you're friends with the players," She smirked playfully, but Jinki didn't get her teasing tone of voice and immediately panicked. He started to throw his arms around and stutter incoherent words.
"They're not players! They just- They like girls and show it. You know, they're nice and always there when you need them and-"
"I know, I know..." Gwiboon put her hand on Jinki's to calm him down. He vaguely noticed that her fingers were long and her hand didn't look that small and fragile. He liked that.
"And you? Why are you here?" He inquired, tilting his head to the side curiously.
Gwiboon was no longer staring at him, she was looking at crowd again. She suddenly stood up, making her pigtails bounce lightly on her shoulders. Jinki looked up at her with question marks all over his face.
"I- I want to go a little further away from the crowd. It's so noisy here,"
Jinki nodded and slowly got to his feet. He didn't have time to protest when she pulled on his arm with so much strenght that he wondered if she had been working out. They were soon on the other side of the bar, where nobody went because the music could barely be heard. It was not a big room, but that was exactly what Jinki unconsciously had asked for.
He was about to say something about the place when he stumbled in an imperfection in the wood of the floor. Obviously, they ended up in a weird and awkward position. Gwiboon was tightly pressed between the wall and the shocked boy.
They stared at each other until Jinki proceeded to move forward. This occasion was too good to waste. He had a girl he actually liked a little caught between himself and a convenient wall. His foot hurt, that was true, but his foot had hurt before, but this had never happened.
"I'm-" She stuttered, lowering herself on her feet as Jinki was coming closer and closer. "I'm not-"
"You are. Of course you are,"
Their lips touched for a brief moment, which was enough to send chills down Jinki's spine. He looked at the scared girl trapped in his arms and deeply wondered if he had done wrong. Judging from what he knew of her personality, a slap would come soon. Or maybe he was going to go to jail for violating a girl? Oh that couldn't be good...
"I'm- I have to go now," She said and pushed him away from her. Gwiboon gulped as she hurried to the door.
"No, wait! I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry!" He rushed after her and grabbed her wrist hastily. "I shouldn't have done that, I know. We barely know each other and-"
Gwiboon shut him up with a slightly longer contact of their lips. Jinki gasped into the kiss and let his head get dizzy from all the emotions awakening in him. He had yearned to feel those things and he just wanted to enjoy the most of it. So, as the hot-blooded teenager he was, Jinki sneaked his hands on her hips, noticing how it was different than lifting girls up to help them in their dance practice. Gwiboon pulled back shortly after his gesture and shook her head in disapproval, looking full of guilt. She kept shifting from one leg to the other, obviously hesitating between going back in the crowd or staying here with Jinki.
"It's not that," She started. "It's...not that,"
"Then what is it? Do you want to go on a date? Or you're scared that I'm just looking for a one-night stand? Because I'm not that kind of person! You know we can be friends and hang out and see if we want to go-"
"No! I mean, it's nice. Really, I'd love to go on a date and everything. But, I'm not..." She was still afraid of something. Of what? Jinki didn't know, but she sure feared something.
"Look, let's just take our time! No need to feel so rushed!" Jinki surprised himself with the way his voice was calm and almost soothing. The times he felt confident about something were rare, so he went on. "We could exchange cellphone numbers and meet sometimes. That way we'll get to know about each other. Okay?"
Gwiboon sighed shakily and smiled softly. "You're right," She got her cellphone out of her pocket. It was small, pink and a cute little bunny was attached to it which made Jinki grin.
"I'll text you," Gwiboon said when they had exchanged their numbers.
"And by the way, I'm not the kind of person who falls for sweet-talking, so don't waste your time with pretty words," She turned around and left Jinki alone in the room being overly happy and a bit confused.
---
"You what!?" Jaebum choked on his sandwich.
"Yeah..." Jinki blushed and bit his lips.
They were casually sitting in the school's main stair case with some other friends. Jokwon was animatedly discussing about some random story beside them. And since he pretty much took everyone's attention, Jinki could talk with Jaebum freely. At least Jokwon was too busy to eavesdrop on them.
"Damn, and there I was being all guilty about leaving you alone!" Jaebum muttered. "But hey, I'm glad you finally got someone! Now tell me, was she hot? How was she dressed? Do you have a picture!?" He added expectantly.
"I don't, but I can tell you she's pretty cute and why do you want to know her clothes?" Jinki frowned at him, earning a bright smile.
"Because I can't picture her naked of course. I mean if she's yours I can't, right?" He replied with a wide grin that clearly said he had already imagined a naked girl as Jinki's girlfriend. The latter shuddered at his crazy looks.
"Well, she was wearing a white shirt and pink skirt and she had pigtails hmm...yeah that's about it," Jinki explained, hoping Jaebum wouldn't get any weird ideas about his new friend before even meeting her.
"Hmm, cleavage? how long was her skirt? sleeveless shirt?"
"You're a pervert,"
Jaebum smirked and nodded, because he knew and accepted what he was. "Anyway, how far did you two go?" He asked with that madman grin again.
"I'm not like you! I don't do- I don't- you know!"
"Of course you don't, but as a man, you will soon discover that you need some special attention from time to time and- Hey, I speak like my father...!"
Jinki's cellphone rang and he stopped listening to Jaebum curse to pick it up. It was text. The first text he ever recieved from Gwiboon. He smiled and quickly pressed different buttons to read her message.
Hey, have any plans tonight?
He eagerly typed that no, he had nothing planned and waited for her answer. When it came, she informed him that they were going on a date at the nearest mall at 7pm. Jinki had to read twice before fully understanding the words on the tiny screen. Then he smile, widely, and let out a loud sound that sounded like a girl squealing in front of a cute puppy on Christmas Day.
He had never expected to meet her again so soon. Jinki thought that maybe she would never have any contact with him again. A kiss and then she would run away and never talk to him again. He dared to think that maybe they would randomly meet, but this was...this was more than what he had ever expected! Within less than 2 days, he had managed to do what most of his friend had done in a matter of hours. And for Jinki, this was an accomplishment.
He got up and started twirling around on his feet, hands high in the air. Jokwon even stopped talking to watch him getting lost in glee.
"Is he okay?" Jokwon asked Jaebum after staring for a small while.
"I have no idea. Is it normal to look this gay when you're in love?" Jaebeom turned to Jokwon who was pouting at him with an angry look.
"What?" Jaebum asked when he noticed Jokwon's glare on him.
"I hate you,"
"Huh? Why?" Jaebum gazed at Jokwon questioningly while the other tapped on Jinki's shoulder for real explanations.
