As the intense nausea and dizziness faded, Clint became aware of his surroundings and couldn't help wincing.

“Andrew!” a very loud female voice sounded.

Closer by, a very non-manly “Eep!” sounded.

He tried to open his eyes and managed to crack them open in time to see a blond-haired young man race to the door as if trying to keep someone else out. Most likely the very displeased woman he heard earlier.

Soon, the owner of the voice appeared - short, bottle blonde and someone who carried themselves with more confidence than even Fury. A leader.

“Now Buffy,” Andrew began.

Buffy? He wondered, allowing his eyes to close as the world still seemed to swim around him. He didn't seem to be in any immediate danger, which is more than he could say for Andrew.

“Don't you 'Now Buffy' me,” she spat angrily. “You agreed to the no unsupervised magic...”

“But it was important!”

“What could be so important you would go against me, Giles and Willow?” Buffy demanded.

Clint heard a slight shuffle and a grunt from Andrew. Obviously, Buffy had gotten into the room.

“That's a person! And is that a summoning circle? Andrew Wells! What did you do?”

“It's going to be OK. It'll work out,” he tried to soothe.

Clint cracked his eyes open and saw Buffy heading toward him while Andrew looked just like his oldest did when caught stealing cooking an hour before dinner. His view of Andrew was blocked as Buffy's face appeared in front of him. Her expression softened, most likely in response to the pain he knew he was showing on his face.

With a sigh, she turned back to Andrew and instructed, “Call the infirmary and call Willow. Poor guy probably has portal sickness. Who is he?”

“Clint Barton, from the Avengers. Known as Hawkeye.”

“The comic books?”

Clint felt puzzled There were comic books? He was in them? Why didn't he know about them?

“Yeah, but he wasn't supposed to be really real and I wasn't really trying and...”

“Andrew, shut it!” she snapped, cutting him off mid-ramble. “You know enough about alternate universes to not even try. As it is, we'll have to see what Willow says and we may need to get Dawnie involved.”

“I'm really sorry, Buffy.”

“Be sorry later and to Clint. Be responsible for me and make those calls.”

“Yes, Buffy,” a defeated Andrew said.

Clint let his eyes slip shut.

“Sorry about this. We'll do everything we can to get you home as soon as possible,” Buffy encouraged.

Clint could only hope so, as, against every bit of training he'd ever had, he slipped into unconsciousness.

When he next awoke it was in a hospital bed with a curtain drawn around him. He felt infinitely better and much more like himself. As he scanned the room, he location the woman from before, Buffy.

“Feeling better?” she asked sympathetically.

“Yeah,” Clint admitted. “Have a whole load of questions that need answers.”

“I can imagine,” Buffy said. “First of all, as hard as this is going to be fore you to believe, it's all true, so keep an open mind.”

From what he had heard earlier, he could only nod in agreement. Apparently he was nothing more than a comic book character here. It didn't get much stranger than that.

“You aren't from our reality, which, I think you got in the room before. In this world, magic works, things of nightmares exist and you've ended up at the headquarters of the Slayer and Watcher's Council.”

Clint cut her off as recognition set in. “Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Believe it or not, you're a television show in my world,” he informed with a smirk.

“Figures,” she replied with an eye roll. “So, you know the basics of this world. I'm assuming you also know who most of us are, and probably more about our personal lives than we would be comfortable with?”

“Just about. I'm assuming the same from you?”

Buffy nodded. “Xander and Andrew filled us in on your skill set, though there's no guarantee your world is exactly the same as the comics.”

“What are the chances of me getting home?”

“Willow and Dawn are working on it with Andrew and our coven. They need to check everything Andrew did and trace back the path you took to get here. Unfortunately, they can't give us an exact time frame and we have no idea if time runs differently between the two realities. They did say it might be easier if there were ties back there for you?”

“My kids are there,” Clint provided.

Buffy's eyebrows rose. “Huh. Definitely different than the comics. That will be a big help, but it could still take a couple of weeks or months.”

“I figured. In the meantime, I have some skills you may be able to use.”

“That you do. Are you feeling up to some testing and demonstration? We can chat on our way to the gym.”

Clint slipped off of the bed and paused to make sure he was OK standing. When there were no wobbles or spinning, he smiled. “Lead the way.”

It had taken the team two months to get him home again and, this time, with only minimal disorientation for which he was very thankful. If he never got portal sickness again, it would be too soon.

He ended up appearing in the middle of the living room on the farm, startling his kids who were tied up watching a program on television.

He turned as he heard Laura gasp. Never had he seen a more beautiful sight. Walking up to her, he wrapped her in his arms and held tight.

“You're home,” she said, her pleasure evident in her voice.

“Yep. And here is where I plan to stay,” he assured, kissing her.

End.
