David Eddings passes away Oh no.
His books, specifically Polgara the Sorceress, was the one that opened the world of fantasy to me. Without him, I wouldn't have been interested enough to read GRRM's works, or Lynch's or Abercrombie's. Until now, I still count Silk and Belgarath as one of my favorite characters.
RIP, Mr. Eddings, and thank you.

High-five though to George R. R. Martin. Some of the best real fantasy I've ever read.

*high five* I love his books. And his characters. I do hope he'll be able to finish the series. ♥

And . . . um. Terry Goodkind what. If that isn't a hoax, there's even more wrong with that man than I had imagine . . . which is seriously saying something.

Foreverlad in the ASoIaF forums did this funny macro on the book. XD

We also make great parodies.
(God, I thought he was "well, okay, a bit violent, too much rape" the first time I read him...and then when I found out he was pretty O_O in his RL stances, I'm...ooooohakay."

His books were what got me into fantasy too. I read Polgara the Sorceress before I read the other series in the same world, and ... I dunno, I ended up wanting to read like everything he ever wrote because I loved his books that much.
SILK. And and and just... yeah.

I read Polgara first, and yeah, after that I just wanted to read more.
And Silk. Man. I love Silk. ♥
