Summer's over...Not that I really had much of a summer. I worked all the time. I could have hung out with my co-workers and "partied" which might have made the summer more fun, but I'm pretty antisocial.
As far as my fire season went. I got on 9 fires this summer. Whoooopeee!! I'm starting to get anxious for more fire. 9 fires, and only seeing flames on 3 was pretty boring. I'll probably be on a fire engine in the Gorge one more summer. If it doesn't rock my world, I'm going to apply to some hand crews.
My classes for this quarter(a total of 17 credits):
Art History: Cultural Contacts:Pacific Art
Art: Visual Dialogue
Classical Studies: Greek Mythology
Design: Foundations of Visual Comm
Philosophy: Introduction to Logic
Greek Myth looks like it will have really dry lectures, but hopefully the readings are fun. Intro to Logic has potential of being alright, or lame. Gonna have to show up for class all the time:( I went to Visual Comm yesterday but the teacher didn't show up. So I don't have a clue that it will be fun or not. I just got out of Art History. Here's the thing with that class. When signing up it said there was a 150 seat capacity. I thought it was going to be a big class. When I arrived to class there were maybe 15 people present. Here's the kicker, I am the only male. *awkward* We have a small class and I know were are going to break into groups and have plenty of discussions. If I opened up a bit it could be a really cool class. but who am I kidding, it'll probably be lame.
I worked out yesterday, and the day before that. I've started swimming. I've always loved swimming. What a great way to work out. I feel like an idiot though. I enjoy it, but I dont think I'm that good at it. I feel like an idiot and think the life guards are probably laughing at me. Oh well. Maybe I'll take some swimming lessons.
I also did some running before taking a dip. I'm in about the same shape I was in last spring, so that's refreshing. I thought I got fatter over the summer.
My room is a mess. We haven't really cleaned and organized all our stuff. I'll probably do that tonight. My roommates are cool. Dan and Eddie are the same as last year. Blake is my new roommate and we get along well. So for now things are good.
This weekend I'm going on a hike with Kane, Caroline and Amalie(sp?) I'm looking forward to it. Kane said it's a total of 20 miles over 3 days. Should be easy. But it could also kick my ass. I don't have any hiking boots and I don't want to purchase any. I'll be using my fire boots. Although clunky, I find them comfortable and sturdy. Perfect for the great outdoors. Weather looks like it'll be in our favor too.
I got a computer but it's a piece of shit. I'm so pissed about it. When I first got the computer it was slow, not working properly, and noisy. I called them a week later and complained, they didn't really do anything. They tried to walk me through stuff and it was going to take like 3 hours. and .....damnit...It's just annoying. They should have replaced it. So I got on a fire and was away for almost 2 weeks. And I never really have time to call and just sit there talking on the phone for forever. Now it's been a little over a month. I'll have to call them next monday, but now it will look as if I've done something to the computer and it wasn't there fault. I've used the fucker only a few times. *sighs*
Well I think I'll leave on that note. Nice and frustrated. But other than that life is pretty good.
