I need a vacation
very soon.
I'm pooped. exhausted. completely done.
My kitchen is finished with the painting. It looks fabulous. The floor still needs lots of work. I've only removed a third of the linoleum but that will have to wait. Too many other projects have been waiting their turn and now that it's nice out, a whole lot of outdoor projects are demanding attention.
The list is HUGE
-the roof needs to be reshingled (Kevin's job)
-the garage needs painting
-the pool has to go, somewhere, anywhere...
-the shed needs to be torn out and brought to the dump (another Kevin job)
-the lawn needs serious attention as do the flowerbeds that are nothing but dirt piles at the moment.
for the house I still need to
-refinish all the hardwood floors
-replace the fuse box with a panel box (Kevin's job)
-remove the asbestos from the pipes in the basement and replace the water heater (kevin job)
-re-glaze the tub and the downstairs bathroom sink
argh....
as if that wasn't enough, I also need to do some major sewing in the near future.
-the bridesmaid's dress is a tad big in the shoulder, rather than bringing it back to Markham (3 hours drive) for alterations, I'm fixing it myself. That will hopefully get done tonight.
-I need to finish my blue linen dress, hopefully before Coronation/ de-coronation this weekend.
-Marty and I both need new garb for Pennsic
-Goob might be coming to Pennsic and will need some garb. most of it borrowed I hope
-my dad's crosses need to be embroidered before next June. That's only a year away and they'll take me many hours to finish.
and if all of that wasn't enough, some dumb ass took the front bumper cover off my car at the grocery store on Saturday so my car has to go to the mechanics at some point this week and I'll be carless for 2 days.
But on the plus side
-I went for my first bike ride this season last saturday with big_bald_kevin and kestrasfishtank and we had lots of fun. My bike got muddy but I didn't. lol Afterwards, we went to see VNV Nation, and brought Algae along. Then Funhaus for the afterparty where I bumped into (Klumpy)Rob and Poohbear Rob and Liz.
Sunday I got to see ivysmom. She came over for the pre-wedding make-up trials. Met my brother's future in-laws and entertained Monica's older sister with medieval history. She's a school teacher and her class is working on medieval stuff at the moment. Monday was pre-inventory day at work and today was the official yearly day of hell. But it's over now, till next year. No more inventory. phew!
Future entertainment includes
-L3 on friday for Frontline assembly, defense mechanism...
-Coronation on Saturday (de-coronation for all of us entourage folks, yay)
-Evil dead the musical may 4th , yayayayayayay
-wedding shower/bbq for Pierre & Monica on the 5th
-Chris & Joy's wedding on the 12th
-Pierre & Monica's wedding on the 19th
-Marty's confirmation on the 24th
-Mom's birthday on the 25th
and then I can relax for one weekend before...
-Kersteken & Sven's wedding on the 2nd of June
-My birthday weekend on the 9, 10 & 11th (lol)
-Murder Melee on the 15,16,17
After all this I may need a week's vacation. Perhaps I'll book it starting on my birthday weekend and ending on Melee weekend? That will give me a week off work to relax. I'll be an old woman by then. Over thirty!
My camera is still broken. As soon as it's repaired, there will be pictures of the home renos.
