Books and Cinema
I completely failed to update my LJ post with books read and films seen for 2015, so I'm doing it a little differently this year. By clever use of tags and maybe monthly book summaries? We'll see how it goes.
I caved in and created a Goodreads account a couple of days ago. I have vague memories of maybe having one in the past, but I can't remember the username/password, and I'm pretty sure I never updated it, so... meh.
Predictably, I hate the user interface and profile layout, that's pretty much the only thing I do remember from the last time I tried the service. And of course all the notification/newsletter settings are opt-out rather than opt-in, but I should be good to go now.
I hate that you have to rate a ton of books to get recommendations, and then all the books you rate are automatically added to your Read shelf. I might go in and delete all the books I rated for recs, I doubt I'll ever use Goodreads to get book recs anyway.
I'll keep track of films by posting reviews on here and tagging the posts. Then maybe I'll do a summary at the end of the year, would be neat.
Speaking of films, here's my tentative Cinemateket schedule for January/February. It's looking busy. Tons of Tarantino for everyone.
