AAAACK.

Hahhahahah holy shit. The replies to the latest post over at feedback piss me off so much, it's ridiculous :D

I guess I will forever be passionate about LJ, but I am surprisingly unimpressed by what seems to be the majority of the userbase. Why can't people ever test things out for themselves before commenting? Because, you know, that's what feedback based development involves. Having the users actually test stuff before expressing their opinions.

I would say 90% of the comments to that entry are made by people who haven't even looked at the widget. They see the words Facebook and Twitter and go in complete lock down mode "THIS IS ARE LJ". Basically.

For the record, this is what the new twitter widget actually looks like (and like ALL THE OTHER FRIENDS FEED WIDGETS it is completely optional).

(Click for big)

It's a tiny little widget/module in the sidebar of your flist. It fetches in your twitter list, it is only visible to you (the owner of the journal). You can't reply to the tweets on twitter from the widget, but there is a handy little icon on each tweet that lets you post a new LJ post with that tweet as a ready made embed. It's quite nifty, and I know this will be something I'll make use of for gacharic_spin, because I know the band often tweets news and fun pictures on twitter. It saves me a lot of time and energy knowing that I can share that stuff with a couple of clicks directly from within LJ.

Compare the intended and actual functionality described above with the majority of comments left on the feedback post. AAAAAH. It's maddening.

PS: Apparently the calendar widget on the friends feed was only ever meant to be a feature for the paid and permanent account holders - so they've removed it from basic and plus accounts ... I feel the need to share, since I talked very highly of this feature in my last post about LJ. Of course this doesn't mean shit to me, since I've had a perm account since forever. Lawl.

Okay, cool. I think I got that out of my system now. What's your day been like? (It's hump day! The least productive day of the week!)
