This might be terribly boring, but I am too lazy to put up a fitness filter. So bear with me.
I'm about half way done with the C25K program. I just completed day 1 of week 5 today, and things are going amazingly well. Day 1 of week 5 consists of three intervals of running for 5 minutes, and walking for 3 minutes. It's weird to think that running for one and a half minute at a time was a seriously daunting task just a couple of weeks back! I won't say it's easy doing these five minute runs, but it's getting easer and easer each time I try. My breathing has greatly improved, and I've got a lot more energy than I usually do during summer (if you can call what we're experiencing at the moment for summer ...). I get so much stuff done on the days I run. Weird.
I've also lost 2.5~3kg. Without really meaning to or even trying. I'm doing this program to stay in shape and get a bit of exercise (I keep hearing it's supposed to be good for you :P), but a bit of weight loss is good as well, I guess. As long as I don't drop below any averages, which I will feel uncomfortable with. I've got a way to go still until that happens, so I can keep up with this running for a good while longer.
I've never been this focused on my body before, and it's been a bit of an adjustment period.
I've also started eating healthier, and I watch my calorie intake somewhat. I thought staying away from sugar was going to be difficult, but I'm finding it very easy. I allow myself a few sweets during weekends, but that's about it. It seems to be working out splendidly.
I've been meaning to supplement my running with other exercises for the days when I'm not running. We've got a set of dumbbells, so I'd like to work on my upper body strength. Also sit-ups! I've always loved doing sit-ups 8D
Still not sure what I'll do when winter comes around. I very much doubt I'll start skiing (I HATE SKIING UNGHHHHH), and running around in snow/on ice doesn't sound terribly safe either .... *waits for the day they'll discover a way for humans to hibernate through winter T___T*
What do you guys do for exercise?
What are your favourite music to listen to while exercising?
Related; I recently lost the backup of my music collection (T_____T), recommend me all sorts of interesting and fun music things! Time to build up a new library~
