A while ago now Christian and I went up to Ekebergrestauranten to look at Oslo from above. I don't think I'd ever been up there before, which is kind of ridiculous considering I've lived close to Oslo all my life 8D

Anyway, here are (some of) the pictures I took!

Camera - lens: Nikon FM2 - micro-NIKKOR 55mm 1 : 2.8
Film: EKTAR 100

I can see my apartment building from here! (Yup!)

Middelalderparken. Øyafestivalen, Oslo's largest summer festival takes place here. We can usually hear the music all the way to our flat.

The skyscraper-like buildings in the background are a group of buildings named "Barcode" (yes, really). They've caused a lot of debate - generally people here are opposed to skyscrapers. Apparently the solution was to make them short skyscrapers. I really don't see the point of that. They are blocking the view anyway, why not go big? The buildings will house offices and a couple of hundred flats. The flats will be amongst the most expensive properties in Oslo. I can't begin to describe how annoyed I am at this. There's a housing shortage, young people are being squeezed out of the housing market because they simply can't afford getting in. And this is what people choose to build. Those buildings could have housed a lot more than a couple of hundred flats aimed exclusively at ridiculously rich people.

The new opera house, royal castle, Oslo city hall and Holmenkollen all in one picture.

I want to go back up there once summer sets in. To see how the city colours change.
