Ålesund was exactly what I needed now. They've got plenty of snow, so it's all pretty for Christmas, yet it's about 10C degrees warmer than Oslo. Beautiful! We spent the day walking around outside, shopping some last minute presents etc. It was brilliant being able to be out in the snow and still have sensation in my legs, hands, nose and ears 8D
We also snuck off to catch a film at the cinema. Ålesund has this charming little cinema that looks like a little castle turret from the outside and the theatre itself has paintings all along the walls, and there's even a balcony! It might not be the best cinema around, but the charm and feel of the place makes it worth a visit anyway. We originally wanted to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but it wasn't running there at the moment, so we randomly decided to see TRON Legacy. Oh my god. I died and went to geek heaven, it was amazing. I've seen the original, but years and years ago. I can't remember much from it (other than disc throwing, bike racing, and.. Uhm TRON-guy xD)... So I really didn't know what to expect from this. I also thought it was a remake, and not a.. Sequel kind of thing.
The first thing that happened was basically me going "omg, is that Jeff Bridges?" aaaaaand that was it. I was hooked. And the soundtrack, THE SOUNDTRACK! *o* I can not stress this enough, the film is worth it for the soundtrack alone. We went straight out and bought it after seeing the film xD will definitely go see it again.
Aaah there's a Christmas tree downstairs ready to be decorated tomorrow evening, we've got cookie doughs waiting to be made into delicious Christmas treats, and most other Christmas preparations are done too. Things are good ♥
