It's Sunday and we strolled around Akiba~ we'd read a news article stating that the ward had applied to have the street closed for cars today (like was common practice up until the violent attacks that happened in 2008 (as mentioned here previously). Though, unfortunately it seems the application was denied for now, because the street remained open for cars all day long.

... no matter, I had other business in Akiba today 8D;;;;;

I've been following the band Gacharic Spin ever since they started up. I follow all the band members' blogs, I have both of their singles (which is all they've released so far), I've hunted down and read interviews and live clips, web tv shows and radio broadcasts... I'm admin on the Gacharic Spin LJ community, and their Facebook fanpage. I'm just crazy about this band that is just starting out, and I don't even really know why D: Now, typical Twiss luck would have it so that Gachapin (as they're affectionately called) did not have any concerts scheduled during my one month long stay in Japan T_T;;; Howeverrrrrr last week (or ... whenever) they updated their homepage with news about a special event 8D KOGA, the bassist, have previously released a DVD where she teaches bass techniques, now Hana (the drummer, and my favourite member of the band) has recorded a DVD in the same series, except she teaches you how to drum. This was an event to promote the DVD. And it was set to take place in Akihabara. Omg omg omg I couldn't believe my luck xDDD hahahaha.

So yeeeeah. I've never gone to events like this before. I've never had the guts to go to signing sessions and the like, it just gets too awkward for me, but I had to do this xD;;; I had to~~~~

The event was at musicvox, which is a huge music equipment store. 8 floors of instruments in all shapes and colours. The event space was on the 10th floor. I got there 40 minutes before the event was said to begin, and there was a queue all the way down to the sixth floor!!!! XDDDDD; whaaaaaa. We were handed promotion leaflets (TOMO-ZO, Gacharic Spin's guitarist, is set to release a DVD in this series too!!), and a sheet to jot down a question if we had something drum related we wanted to ask Hana. I couldn't think of anything to ask her... xD;;;

Once in the room, I hurried on over to the merch booth where I bought Hana's DVD. When I first found out about the event it said that people who bought the DVD at the event would get it autographed afterwards :D

I then proceeded to score myself a seat in the front row. Omggggg~~~~ So close to the stage, aaaaah :DDDDD They had a tv there that played a Gacharic Spin live clip (a song I'd never heard before :O ) over and over and over again until the event began. xD;; I think the live clip is on the DVD I bought~ I hope so :D

Anyway, Hana came on and fffff SHE IS SO ADORABLE. AND AWKWARD~~~ AND CUTE~~~~ And frickin awesome at what she does D:!!!! dshfjaksdhfjkas Her voice is so squeaky! I've heard her talk once before on a web tv show they were on, but hearing her talk in person aaaaah ♥_♥

She started off by playing a drum solo. It was amazing @_@;;;; She totally spazzed out~ when that was done she looked down the first row, and she just stopped and stared at me for a little while xD;;;;;; I guess she was surprised to see a random foreigner there? xD;;;;;; She continued to look at me for a while when she first started talking, probably to see if I was able to understand what was going on? xDDD;;;; She seemed so nervous and uncomfortable in the beginning, but became more relaxed (... and somehow also even spacier in her behaviour....) after a while :D Yay, yay.

dshjadfhjkds I could ramble on and on about this ;___; I'm so happy I was able to attend. In any case, she talked about drums and drumming. That's what the event was for after all :P People asked questions like "Where on the pedal is it best to place my foot?" and "How many hours a day do you practice" etc. etc. She made everything look so simple :O I wish I knew how to play an instrument... but haha, with this DVD I can attempt to try and learn to play the drums 8D ..... xDDDD

After tons of babbling, and Hana accusing a guy in the audience of falling asleep (omg ffffff xDDD ) KOGA came on as a surprise guest :D Omg yay KOGA~~~ her personality was COMPLETELY different from Hana's and it was extremely amusing to have such different personalities on stage at the same time. KOGA was all "HEY EVERYONE WHOOOOO SUP, LET'S GO CRAZY~~~~" while Hana was more ".... hello 8D Yay! *awkward pose followed by awkward silence*" ♥ xDDD; The two babbled for a while, AH and Hana got a question that went "How are you able to play with such power when you're so slow" (as in... spaced out xD). And Hana just went "Hmm... yeah, I wonder......." ...... XDDDDD there were so many awesome moments during the talking aaaaaugh hahaha. In any case, the girls explained that they exercise a lot, often together. They run like marathons and such (O_O!). Hana is the second best, while KOGA is the best :P And KOGA shared info on how Hana's running style is the silliest one ever. She apparently looks like a robot when she runs xDDDD oh man.

Anyway, they finished up the event by jamming together. It was so cool @____@;;; KOGA was about to do her famous bass spins (she spins her bass guitar around over her back while playing *___*), but realised there wasn't enough room, and had to cancel it mid-air xDDD looked wild. Hahaha. They said their thanks and goodbyes and the event was over. Then the event crew started setting up tables and such for the signing session~ My nerves just shot through the roof. I was so nervous I thought I'd die, hahahahha xD;;;; while all of this was happening, I suddenly saw TOMO-ZO walking through the room 8DDDDD She quickly disappeared back into the backstage area. Apparently Armmy (vocalist) was with her as well, but I didn't realise it was her until I saw pictures up on her blog when I got back to the apartment xD hahaha fail.

Signing session time! Aaaand I ended up being first in line, because they had people stand in line in the order we were seated, so yeeeah. I was freaking out, because I had planned to listen in on how other people greeted her/what people say at meet&greet things like this before I went over lolololol. Then of course I'd forgotten to unwrap my DVD so I stood there struggling with that when Hana got seated xDDDD ffffff. Aaaand my name is stupidly difficult for Japanese people, so I pulled out my alien registration card that I still have to show her the correct spelling, ffffff hahahah xD;;; A guy snapped a picture of her and me with my Cheki, she shook my hand, and I thanked her and uhm.... that was that xD;;; I was shaking, loooool haahah xD;;;;;; and I felt so stupid for not being able to actually say anything to her but ffff whatever :D I got to meet her and take a picture with her~~~~~~! :DDDDD

Look how tiny she is, iiiiiiiih~~ xD;;;;;;

I sent her a message on ameblo when I got back to the apartment xDDDDD

AND THAT WAS MY DAYYYYYYY~~~~ xDDDD

Oh and yeah, if you're in Akiba and happen to stumble across a little van called PaPa Crepe, do, do, DO try the crepes there! Omgggg so delicious @______@;;; Probably the best crepes I've ever had :O! No lie.

music, fandom, gachapin, awesome, pictures, japan '10, yay, omg
