First Day Babbles!

Jul 28, 2010 22:25

I apologise in advance for typos and weird sentences.

First day in Japan is soon over, and boy it's been quite a ride. We spent about 18 hours traveling, and just kept on going, I haven't slept since the plane ride. We've lost a complete day due to traveling, and ahsdfjhasjk yeah. Jet lag ♥ hahaha.

As for the plane ride itself, it went smoooothly~ oh yeah. Apart from ridiculous security/passport control procedures and Frankfurt airport making us late for our flight out of there. Yikes. But we made it, and all was well. ... DOT DOT DOT....

I watched lots of stuff on the plane, though I slept through most of what I saw... except for The Princess and the Frog ♥ Aww, was nice to see that again ^_^

ANYWAY. YEAH. So we had a bunch of stuff planned for our first day, AND WE WERE ABLE TO DO THEM ALL \O/ Score~ We spent a lot of time at the airport, running around getting stuff done. While waiting in line for immigration/passport control at Narita, I SAW SUZUKI AKIKO (figure skater) @____@! ... I'm pretty sure it was her. I noticed her because she walked right up to the priority line (which is reserved for government officials, celebrities, and other important people xD;) Heeeee. I can't be sure, but it looked too much like her to NOT be her.... if that makes sense 8D; Once customs and passport stuff was done, we noodled around the airport to get stuff done. We rented a sim-card so that we can get online on the go, keep in touch with people, and various other neat things. I located the Lawson at the airport and scored myself a ticket to the last available Hello!Project concert~ oh yeah~~~ I probably have the crappiest seat ever, but I don't really care :D I'm mostly going to get to experience the atmosphere at a gig like that. Had it been a MoMusu only concert I would have been more interested in getting a good seat. In any case, I'm really curious about what those kind of shows are like, and I'm looking forward to it a whole lot :D

We then took the train to Gotanda, where Ichii Coroporation (the company we rented the apartment from) has their offices. I've been there twice before xD; Their offices are located in a completely regular apartment building so it seems sort of shady, until you enter their offices. Haha. We were served ice cold tea, got to wear slippers, and signed contracts and stuff. Whoooo~

Back to the train station, decided to get Suica cards. I never got one when I lived in Japan on 07/08 because I didn't travel around enough for it be.... worth it. Not that Suica costs more than regular tickets, but the regular paper tickets are only annoying if you have to buy a million of them a day xD; Something I didn't have to do for my day adventures out to Tokyo when I lived in Minami-Kashiwa. I tended to pick one place and stay there for the day. And apart from during my Christmas break, I didn't really travel around that much. So yeah... but Suica is awesome :D BEEP and you're through xD; Probably need to re-charge the cards tomorrow.
I had a fun language-fail while getting the Suicas. I told the clerk I wanted to buy Suica, and she told me that there are personal Suica cards (MySuica) and regular Suica. I asked her what the differences were, but didn't understand her answer at all 8D I blank-stared for a moment, trying to decide whether I should ask her to explain further, or if I should say that I didn't understand... I couldn't decide and ended up doing a "eheee? 8D;;;" noise, to which she said "Awwww, regular Suica it is then~~~~ ^_______^" all happy and sweet and adorable, hahaha. Ffffff. Oh well. I like it when my failages are cute. xD;

THENNNNNN we went to Kanda where our apartment is! It looks like this;

Short rest, unpacking, getting used to the fact that OMG WE'RE BACK (I still can't believe it, actually), and then off to Shibuya~

Did some clothes shopping, bought tickets for Disneyland and thennnnn.....

WE GOT HAIRCUTS XDDDD FFFFFF. More like, MUCH NEEDED MASSAGES OMG WHUT. I've never been pampered like that at a hair salon ever. It was awesome. None of the staff spoke much English, but they gladly took us in anyway. I was able to explain what I had in mind, and then I was sent off to have my hair washed. I've also never experienced being sent off to a separate shampoo person @_@; It's always just been my hairdresser doing everything. So yeeeah. Getting my hair washed, and scalp massaged while having a piece of paper over my face. Lol wtf. Though it helped me relax, because I knew the guy couldn't see how much I was blushing xD;;;; Oh and he gave me a case to place my glasses in! And they kept our bags safe for us! Wtf! Norwegian hair salons, take note~~~~ seriously aaaugh. I'm always worried about having my stuff stolen, or forgetting my glasses when I'm at Norwegian hair salons. Here at this one we went to in Shibuya, they took care of absolutely everything for us.
Anyway, the shampoo-guy and I talked about Disneyland 8D; And Japan~ and food~ and stuff... and then he went "I'll massage you now, ok?" and I went.... "8D yessss fffff" and then my body turned to jelly and I felt how tired my body was and after that my Japanese failed horribly. I think my hairdresser was left with a really weird impression of me (we were only able to have broken conversations xDD) while the shampoo/massage guy must be left with a "wow, that girl really loves Disney, huh"-impression xD; Oh yeah, and he showed us out afterwards, and right before the lift doors closed, he winked at me and said "Have fun at Disneyland~~~!" Awwwwww! ♥ XDDD
AH WELL. HAIRCUT! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

(I bought that shirt today ♥)

I'm going to the H!P concert, omggggg

It was completely dark out when we got out from the hair salon @_@; That confused my body even more, and I also noticed how hungry I was. We went back to Kanda and had AMAZING katsu-don at this little place close to the train station.

LOOK AT THIS YUMMY FOOD ♥

.... and now we're back in the apartment. Going to sleep very, very soon. It's Christian's birthday tomorrow, and we're going to Disneyland ;D

I promise pictures of actual places and such will come later xD; When we're both more... aware of what's going on around us.

Oh I guess I should say what I think about the summer heat so far. I quite like it :O Though I can totally see it being a bitch to deal with this kind of humid heat every summer. It's a completely different heat from what we experience over in Norway, and also different from how summer gets on the continent. Personally I feel that the days where we suffered through 38C in Paris last summer were a lot worse than the humid heat here in Tokyo, and I'm not saying that just because I can't stand Paris... XD; The heat in Paris was very... sharp, and there was no escape. With the humid heat it's like a blanket that envelops you, as in it gets clammy and uncomfortable, but the actual warmth isn't too bad. It also helps a lot that every place you enter here in Japan have excellent air conditioning. That includes the trains. I'm freezing on the trains here @_@; lulz. I'd sort of forgotten about the convenience of aircon. I was worried I wouldn't have the appetite to eat all the food I wanted to eat, but with air-conditioned restaurants, that's not a problem at all, haha! :D

Whoop. I still can't believe I'm here @_@; It's just too bizarre.
