SO. Since this semester (and all semesters after my first one, really) haven't gone all too well, I'm now investing time and effort in going through the list of all subjects offered next semester @_@ It was a daunting task at first, and I suffered much frustration over how all the interesting-sounding courses I wanted to take were for Master students or seriously clever Bachelor students (which we all know, I am not).
However, after an hour at looking through course descriptions, I've now managed to build up a list of 6 subjects that I'm both interested in and capable of completing (time schedules willing *crosses fingers*). I'm bursting with excitement to start the next semester and set things straight! No more staying home from classes just because I feel like it. Seriously, it is not worth it D: I'll spend more time in the lovely library at Sophus Bugge (because I actually get stuff done there) instead, and I'll justify my status as a full-time student.
This was how I first set out when I started university. It was how I tackled schoolwork through my more inspired times at upper secondary. I enjoy doing research and other stupid tasks as long as I feel in control of deadlines and assignments.
So what courses will you hear me bitch about starting this August/September? If everything goes according to plan, I'll be attending these classes;
-
ENG1102 - Translation and Practical Exercises, An Introduction I wanted to find more courses relating to translating between languages, but couldn't find any D: Hopefully other courses are offered during the spring semesters. Anyway, at 5 credits this course teaching basic skills in translating from Norwegian to English sounds like a very good start.
-
NED1101 - Dutch Language 1 Chose Dutch because, well, if I want to pass off my bachelor degree as a degree within the language programme, I need to have studied two languages. Why not tackle a language I encounter quite a lot due to going to Amsterdam every once in a while?
-
SGO1001 - An Introduction to Human Geography A friend of
corporeal and I mentioned this class briefly during lunch one day. I thought it sounded interesting. Still does!
-
ENG1304 - American Literature, an introduction Only taking this because another course I wanted to take lists this as a prerequisite. I originally wanted to do the introduction to British literature, but that's only offered each spring semester, so no can do. I'm sure an introduction to American literature will be just as entertaining XD ... I may not be able to take the subject that this is needed for, but.. whatever. At least I'm filling up my study points with courses I think I'm more than capable of completing ♥
The only thing that can mess this up for me now is if some of these have overlapping schedules either for classes or for their exams. I'm hoping for the best. There is still lots of time before class registration is opened up so XD;; I'm really early with this, but whatever. I just really don't want to get burned by making the wrong choice of course again! *_*
