A lot has been going on these last couple of days, so here I come posting yet another picture post @_@; Hopefully the pictures will prevent you from getting bored with my babbling xD;

Anyway, we've had the last couple of days off because of Culture Day and school festival :D Fun stuff. I didn't really stick around for a lot of it (since I didn't have to participate in the festival by manning a booth or whatnot), but what I did see, I really enjoyed :) So here are pictures from the festival. Today's adventure in to Tokyo will be posted about tomorrow XD

STARTING WITH SOMETHING RANDOM. If you're in Japan and want good (I mean, really good) bread... look for the Little Mermaid bakeries. Here's a picture of one as an example;

this one is at Ueno station. YUMMY STUFF.

Okay, back to scheduled post with pictures from school festival, etc. XD

The main stage, in daylight. Not in use the first day, because it was raining (all the main stage events got moved inside the cafeteria) T_T Kind of sad, they put so much work into it! At least the two next days were sunny :D

Some of the food-stalls. SO MUCH FOOD, OH GOD. You could try out various dishes from all over the world and everything was so yummy T___T!!! Yay~~

More food~~~~

Another general overview picture xD The colourful thingie in the middle of the picture is a slide that they built for the kids to enjoy :O They built a lot of nifty and cute decorations for the festival, I'm so impressed.

According to Japanese university students, fish and chips is totally representative for American cooking XDD *amused*

The back of the slide, plus the "slide-staff". They got to play with cute kids all day XD Awww

RIFA had a food-stall. Food from Finland! Close to home~~

Heeee, Moomin. XD They made meatballs (DELICIOUS MEATBALLS). Aaaah, it was good ♥

Festival decorations. They all lit up at night! :O So cool.

More food-stalls. I never got to try that fried ice :/ and it annoys me. EVERYONE kept raving on about how good it was T_T;

Apparently, this is their 44th festival

The name of this year's festival. Aaah, the Japanese and their puns. "Ai'm home" (Ai=love in Japanese)

What is that odd little creature, you say?

Why, it's Reita-kun! Our school mascot XDDD

This stall was selling mochi, but they got no customers xD So they had to go a bit creative on their image/advertising. All their advertisers were dressed up as different characters/animals. Awww. XD

There were more foodstuffs and activities to do inside. The Germans sure know how to get people interested in what they had to offer. ALCOHOL. XD

AAH IT'Z ZE GERMANZ. .... yeah, actually a lot of people study German at this school. I'm kind of bummed that I don't remember any of my German. It would have helped me with getting in touch with Japanese students here xDD

Lulz, random art from the kindergarden kids

I just thought the artwork was adorable 8D

パンダ!パンダ!食べられてもいい? xDDD

FISHIES

Mr. Octopus is TOO SAD D:

Twinkle Star contest. People did random... stuff and uhm the audience voted for the participants they liked the best and the winners were crowned Miss and Mr Reitaku! XD

Blurry picture of the participants. Guy #4 and girl #4 won. If I remember correctly xD Guy #3 and girl #1 came in second place

The dance circle had a show, but errr. taking pictures was difficult. I kind of like how this came out, though XD Anyway. Everyone was really talented D: And the breakdance battles were awesome to watch :D

Blurry picture of lanterns that they built for the festival

Dark picture of the entrance gate they built for the festival

Brighter but blurry, whoooo xD

The other side of the gate~

The next day, Mike was participating in a fashion show. He was recruited in as a model (they needed a handsome gajin-model XDD). Again my pictures came out a blurry mess, but I also have two videos so you get to see the outfits better there. You also get to see Mike, who I failed to photograph during the show, because yesh. Gave up when I saw how my pictures were coming out.

Videos; video 1 - video 2
Again, I'm really impressed with this :O The outfits were awesome and the models all seemed very professional and aah! So much fun ^_^

The main stage in use! Band contest, yaaay :D

The stage had cool light-effects and things ^___^

People and darkness and coldness xDD

After the first day of the festival, me and Zin got invited to karaoke by Satoru, who is the leader of RIFA. Another Japanese girl (I think her name was Ayaka) and Dan (an American who was visiting Satoru) joined in too. It was a lot of fun :D Satoru is a great guy, but he is kind of intense XD He BOMBARDED me with questions. Complete random things, and my Japanese is very limited so luuulz. When he got impatient or saw that I was really struggling to find an answer, he just blurted out a new question totally unrelated to what he had just asked me xD It felt like I was being prepped for an exam or something, ahahha. Karaoke was awesome, though (as always). Satoru seems very eager to teach all the foreign students about Japanese culture, because he kept commenting on typically Japanese things all the time :) He wants to take us out for good ramen at Kashiwa someday. Looking forward to it ^_^

Tomorrow you can expect more pictures from Tokyo! Whooo~~

reitaku, pictures, holiday, karaoke, social
