Shun had trouble tearing his eyes away from Sho all night. The latter had been consistently drinking the same fruity red drinks for hours; cheeks slowly flushing pink, eyes becoming glassy. Shun knew it was only a matter of time before Sakurai began taking off his clothes.
And he could hardly wait.
The thought surprised Shun enough to show on his face. What was this? He'd never really thought of Sho in that way. They'd become good friends over the years, sure. It was inevitable, as close as they both were with Jun, that their paths would cross eventually. And continually.
Maybe he did think of Sho that way, Shun pondered. He shook his head and took another swig of the Mexican beer he'd been nursing for the last hour. Sho was a great guy, yeah, but was he...? Shun shook his head again. Surely the alcohol was clouding his brain. The five green jello shots he'd had earlier did a number on his head. That had to be why he was having these thoughts.
Feeling someone's gaze on him, Shun lifted his head to catch Sho's bright eyes staring him down. A smile spread across Sakurai's rosy face as he stumbled across the living room to his friend.
"SHUN. OH MY GOD SHUN, THIS IS THE GREATEST PARTY EVER," Sho shouted over the din.
Shun chuckled, the action making his head swim even more than before. "Thanks, man," he replied, clapping a hand on Sho's shoulder, making his knees buckle ever so slightly. Shun moved to catch him as Sho semi-fell into his open arms.
"Urrr...." Sho's eyes bored into Shun's, a glimpse of longing there that Shun hadn't previously noticed. "Thanks," he whispered.
Shun straightened his friend up and stepped back, surprised by the sudden heat flooding his body at the brief contact. "Um...you're welcome," he replied sheepishly.
Sho sipped on his drink, staring at Shun's lanky form. "So....do I get a tour?" he asked innocently, grinning like Aiba.
"Sho," Shun started, mildly surprised at the request. "You can barely stand and you want a tour?" He chuckled at his friend. "Seriously?"
Sho grinned even wider. "Well yeah! I've only been here once before and that was to help you clean, which is boring." He pouted, making his already perfect lips that much more enticing.
Shun could feel his resolve crumbling. The last thing he needed was to be alone with a drunk Sho, when he himself was more than a bit tipsy.
Clearly logic doesn't come into play when your hormones are racing through your body at mach 5.
"Let's go," Shun said, taking Sho's free hand and leading him through the crowd.
"Where are you guys going?" Nino asked knowingly from his spot on Jun's lap.
"Tour," Shun grunted, throwing daggers with his eyes at the snarky little shit.
"Heh, that's what I thought," Nino said, waggling his eyebrows before continuing to make out with his mildly drunk boyfriend.
Shun led Sho down the dark hallway, pointing out the decorations along the way - the framed picture of the Hanadan cast, the Hana Kimi manga signed by the original artists, his various butai pamphlets. Sho nodded in a polite but disinterested way, eyes constantly darting back to Shun's.
"The bathroom, not too interesting. Spare bedroom that's kind of acting as 'junk room' right now." Shun gestured vaguely in the direction of the rooms. "My room, where most of the mess is, and the library slash office slash secondary junk room."
Sho wandered into the multipurpose office, looking around at Shun's various collectibles. He'd never seen so many random Arashi things before in his life. Sho knew his friend was fan, but jeez, this was...excessive to a laughable point. A tiny hysterical giggle managed to work its way out of Sho's mouth as he flopped down on the leather couch opposite the door.
Shun leaned heavily against the doorway, amusement playing across his face. He knew he'd get harassed about his man-love for Arashi, but dammit if they weren't amazing performers. Observing Sho sitting somewhat dazedly on his worn furniture, realization hit him like a ton of bricks. The last concert, the one he went with Mao-chan, that's when it started - the warm feeling in the pit of his stomach every time he got close to the rapper or their eyes met or Sho said his name. It was like butterflies. It had been so long since he'd felt this way, Shun had almost forgotten what a crush was. The first time Sho looked in his eyes and said "thank you for coming," Shun got so lightheaded he thought he'd fall over. He thought it was just an adrenaline rush at the time, after effects of an awesome concert. Mao had smiled knowingly, but remained coy in the cab all the way home. She was kind of evil sometimes, he thought.
Sho patted the seat next to him, bringing Shun back to reality; back to his present conundrum.
Shun shuffled over to the couch, clutching his steadily emptying beer like life support. He stared down into Sho's bright brown eyes, weighing his options. If he sat on that couch, he was pretty sure he knew what would happen. Did he really want that? Did he want to hurt his friendship with Sho that way? Did Sho even consciously want that, too? What about his friendships with the rest of Arashi? Or hell, most of JE? Shun's head spun wildly and he felt slightly sick at the idea of losing all the people he loved in his life. Sho slowly reached out and placed his hand in Shun's, tugging slightly. "Sit," he said, all traces of a smile gone from his face. His eyes spoke of all the possibilities between them and Shun could hardly say no to that.
He sat down hard on the empty space next to Sho, being careful to put plenty of room between them. Three inches was plenty of room, right? Shun swigged his beer and itched to move closer, but stayed put. He knew better. The two of them sat completely still for a few moments, taking long pulls from their respective drinks, carefully avoiding the other's eyes. Sho's head fell against the back of the couch with a slight thump.
"Hey, are those glow-in-the-dark stars?" he asked excitedly, face lighting up as he pointed at the ceiling.
"Um, yeah, they are. This room was one of the old tenant's kids' rooms," Shun replied, eyes darting upward.
"Do they still glow?" Sho asked, getting up to go to the switch.
"Yeah, but only if you flip the light on, then off and close the door. You don't have to do that, though," he said hurriedly, but Sho had already flipped the switch, still staring at the ceiling. Ten breathless seconds later, he flipped the light off and closed the door with a quiet click.
"Wow," Sho breathed. Shun couldn't help but be kind of amazed himself. Whoever had put the stars up there had obviously done so with a lot of love and care, carefully mapping out the constellations - the Big Dipper, Orion, the Seven Sisters. He hardly noticed Sho flopping back down on the couch next to him, leaning into his arm to pick out the constellations they recognized. They sat there for a few minutes, giggling like little girls as they pointed and tried to outdo the other's knowledge of the star system. Finally they fell into a comfortable silence, Sho leaning heavily on Shun's shoulder, head drooping a bit.
Shun looked down at his friend, wishing harder than he'd ever wished in his life for anything. Even that pony he really wanted when he was 10 so he could go be an authentic American cowboy. Like magic, Sho turned his face toward Shun's, blinking sleepiness from his eyes. "Shun," he murmured before leaning in slowly.
The moment their lips touched, Shun thought he would fall off the couch. Electricity shot through his body, reminding him, rather violently, what a crush was. And how great it was when your crush finally crushed back.
Their mouths moved together slowly for a moment before Shun reluctantly pulled back. "You're drunk," he sighed. Sho smiled and recaptured Shun's lips with his own. "Not as drunk as you like to think," he whispered against their joined mouths.
Sho poked his tongue out teasingly, licking Shun's bottom lip with painful slowness. Shun responded in kind, their tongues meeting in the middle, this time sending bolts of lightning down his spine. His hand instinctively went to the back of Sho's head, deepening their kiss. Tongues slid across and around each other, each exploring the other. Sho shifted slightly and turned his head just enough to allow for better access. Shun couldn't escape the moan of pleasure that escaped.
The angle was awkward at best. Sho pulled out of the kiss, breathing heavily. "This isn't working." His brow furrowed in concentration.
"I'm sorry," Shun said, thoroughly embarrassed. "I shouldn't have done that. I'm gonna go die now." He moved to get off the couch, but suddenly found himself pinned down by the weight of a certain J-pop boybander. "Er...what."
Sho straddled Shun's lap with curiously familiar precision. "Much better," he grinned. As he leaned in for another kiss, Sho ground down ever so slightly, giggling at Shun's gasp of pleasure. "Mmmmhmmm."
Their mouths met again and again, kissing until neither of them could breathe properly. Shun's hands found their way to Sho's waist, the small of his back. His fingers splayed across the warm flesh just under Sho's shirt, lightly pulling him closer. Sho's head fell back as he reveled in the feelings shooting through his body, breathing heavily. Shun took the opportunity to nip at Sho's jaw, the soft skin of his neck, the exposed collarbone. Sliding his hands upward, Shun encouraged Sho's shirt right off. Sho looked down in surprise. How did his shirt get off?
Shun let his eyes roam down Sho's bare chest, then chuckled. Sho'd repierced his navel after all. The little gem sparkled up at him, not unlike Sho's eyes when he smiled.
Sho's hand on his face brought Shun back to the moment. His fingers trailed the line of Shun's jaw before tangling in his newly short hair. This kiss was softer, slower, more deliberate. Shun's hands ran a track up and down Sho's smooth, muscular back, the tips of his fingers brushing Sho's waistband ever so subtly. He felt Sho gasp lightly as Shun's fingers danced along the edge of his jeans. Sho pulled back just enough to see Shun's smirk before crashing their mouths back together, all teeth and tongues and lips.
Ten minutes later they emerged, looking thoroughly kissable, kissed and just a little guilty. Their fingers entwined as Sho led them back down the hall to the party. Neither of them could escape the smug curl of Nino's cat-like smile. Shun ducked his head a bit, leaned over to him and whispered in his ear.
Nino crowed loudly. "SHO REPIERCED HIS BELLY BUTTON, WHAT??"
Sho looked horrified. Shun just grinned and held his hand tighter. He liked where this was going.
