Nursing
I have now been nursing and/or pregnant for 7 solid years!
June 2004 - March 2005: pregnant with Sadie
March 2005 - March 2008: nursing Sadie
October 2007 - June 2008: pregnant with Ivy
June 2008 - June 2011: nursing Ivy
I'll be super sad when Ivy stops nursing, but I think it's time. She loves it so much, though... it's gonna be hard. Starting before she was 2, I did Don't Offer, Don't Refuse. Then I did, Don't Offer, Sometimes Refuse. For a while now, I've been doing Don't Offer, Often Refuse. And last week, I started, "Okay, you can nurse once in the morning and once before bed, and that is all." She still asks a lot, though. She's gone entire days without nursing tons of times... if we're busy or if she's at one of the grandparents' houses. But when we're just hanging around at home, she thinks about it more. Last week, she kept saying, "But nursing is the only thing I like!" Or "Is it bedtime, yet? Why is it taking so long?" After a few weeks, I plan to cut back to once a day. Hopefully, she'll just phase out of it, then, and I won't have to declare, "Okay, this is your last time nursing ever." Because I think we'd both just cry and cry. :-(
